Question about Gigabyte Computers & Internet
"You will not find the BIOS on the hard drive.
It is stored on a chip directly on the motherboard."
You clearly have not researched this at all and pulled it out of your proverbial a$$!
Gigabyte uses this god forbidden technology to make it damn near impossible to recover from.
The motherboard indeed writes to the hard drive, but not in a user friendly manner, in fact it stores it in the hidden area of the hard drive where it finds it difficult to locate.
So far after 2 months of searching for an answer, I have concluded that gigabyte will receive no more money from me, ever again!
Does not answer your question I know, but I have failed to locate one after 2 months.
Ohh and replacement of bios chip is a no go as some brain dead technician gigabyte decided it be fun to solder it straight into the board!

You will not find the BIOS on the hard drive.
It is stored on a chip directly on the motherboard.
You can access the BIOS by pressing one or more keys during startup BEFORE your operating system loads. Which key(s) you have to press depends on your computer. You have to find that exact information in your manual, but you can look at this site and see if you can find the right one.
What do you want to do? - Why are you looking for the BIOS?
