with this machine, that code is normally due to worn temp sensors, once they are replaced you can reset the code by:
To reset fuser failure codes, perform the following: 1. Access 25 mode (power OFF, hold the 2 and 5 keys, power ON). 2. Select option 1 [Software SW]. 3. Use the scroll arrows to scroll to address 3-1. 4. Select OFF. 5. Power the machine OFF/ON.
I am not sure what you mean by "guide the machine" but I can tell you that the 7145 is getting to be an older machine. It was introduced in 2003 so is now about 7 years old. Most manufacturers only supply parts for 8 to 10 years so keep that in mind. Since this is a used machine make sure that the maintenance has been done. Make sure the copies that it produces are clean and crisp. You will want to look at machines that have less than 500,000 copies on them. I would not pay more than about $1,000 for a good running machine. If there are any issues with the machine then I would not pay more than $200 as it may cost $500 or more to bring it up to good runnning condition.
Hopefully this gives you some guidance and please feel free to ask additional questions.
Thank You for using Fixya.
this code means the system control board and the main control board are not communicating with each other. the new main boards have modified to prevent this code. to reset the code turn the main switch on the left side of the machine off for about 10 seconds then back on
