The best way to go about this is to find a linux system as linux operating systems completely bypass the U3 security completely.

Sorry ... bt there is no way to get solution to your problem .... all you can do is contact the Scandisk company n ask them....

Each U3 smart drive comes with a pre-defined number of login attempts. When you have only 3 attempts remaining, you will receive a warning message to prevent losing your data unnecessarily.
SanDisk does not have any method to bypass the password security feature on Cruzer U3 flash drives. SanDisk has not built in any back door or password reset methods. If the password feature is enabled and you exceed the number of incorrect password attempts, the drive will lock. Once the drive is locked there is no way to unlock the drive or gain access to the data stored on the device. You can only select the format feature, which will perform a secure erase (drive wipe) and data recovery will NOT be possible. There are a number of utilities that might be helpful, but if your data is encrypted it may not make any difference if you crack the filesystem lock.

First I would just try some simple diskedit program. Check here for candidates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disk_editor.

If these cannot get through then I'd try Spinrite from grc.com. This costs $$ but is almost invincible.

In extremis, I'd do a quick format then a file recovery ritual with something like FileScavenger.

There is a locked boot partition on this little gem that contains the security features keeping you away from your stuff.

There is no way to recover the data or password if the password if forgotten. Also, there is a limit to the number of attemps before the device becomes unusable. There will be an error message that pops up when you get within 5 attempts from loosing the data forever.

Did you put a password hint when you established your password? If so, hit the hint button to remind yourself.

Also, make sure you are entering the password correctly. Type your password into notepad or some other program to make sure caps lock, num lock, scroll lock, or any other sticky type key isn't making you enter the password incorrectly when you think it is correct.

If you cannot remember the password, you will have to reformat the drive and loose the data.

Also, once a password is set, the drive can only be read on a windows desktop or laptop. NOT in any other device or operating system. If you need to use it on something else like a camera, printer, game console, or a Mac, etc., then log into the drive on a PC and then disable the password feature.

Well M8, there is one solution left then, before you lock you memostick. Download a "Password finder" program. That program scan and tell you what your password is.
There are loads of them out there.
Go to http://www.download.com
Search for "Password finder" and select one of them who shows up, i recomend you to take one high rated.
