To start with, I'm working in Afghanistan and we have an LG MT-60pz90v plasma monitor. To find a repair station here is impossible. Our problem is the picture has just started to go out on us (total black screen of death). If you let it set for a day or two, it will come back on but not for long. There are no lines or color changes. Either there is a picture or not. The sound is fine as well. Thanks for any help you can provide.

This system has several caps...Thanks for any help you can provide.

Ok,,,I was able to get my hands on another exact model that was working, except the screen has started to go out, but all the boards are working. I pulled all the main boards and exchanged them with my original model and it still is not working. I put the boards that I pulled back into the other one, and now neither one is working. Is there a reset button, or a software loading procedure or anything like this that might be causing the "Black Screen of Death"? Thanks again...Help!!!!

What are the two (2) switches on the main power board of my LG MT-60pz90v plasma monitor? One can be accessed through a small pin hole externally, and the other can only be accessed with the back cover removed. Both of my LG MT-60pz90v plasma monitors were working a couple weeks ago, and now both have black screens and power up but both screens are black and I was wondering if these could be reset switches, or for reprogramming? Thanks...

It also mimics a capacitor problem. When it heats up, it opens. When it cools down, it goes back to normal operation.

Hi!
Try looking for any loose connections on power supply. Also try and see any burnt capacitors. Also, check for the connections to the lamps. Although, it is not advised to open up your tv but if you want to then before proceeding turn it off for 1 hour so that current can drain out.
Please ask for further clarifications.
Thanks Rylee

It seems hardware problem and might be dry soldering in few boards of this TV.
Qualified TV tech can look for cold solder joints to resold them.

You can send this TV to Pakistan for repair if you can not find tech guy in Afghanistan. Peshawer and Quetta are nearest cities to have tech to fix this TV.

OK, you exchanged / swapped boards in working TV and all boards are fine.
Now its confirmed that Plasma Panel is defective.
Regarding working set, please double check boards connectors, flexible wires that were pulled during board replacement procedure.
There is no reset switch or software update required as second TV was working fine and got dark-screen problem during boards exchanged.

georgiaheasm, I you prove pc not problem, then you or qualified electronics technician will need to troubleshoot units internat power supply for common problems associated with LCD plasma and CCFL back-lit monitors. Look for some DIY videos on YOUTUBE that deal with lcd repair, plasma lcd repair, lcd monitor disassembly, lcd tv disassembly. Look at them even though you will not DIY repair your unit. Good luck with repair. 12fixlouie

Hello change the X-substain Board, and you might consider changing the Y-substain board also. They are starting to fail.
Right now the X-board is faulty.

Which graphics card should I get to run a panasonic 50' plasma?

A better video card will allow more dimensions like 1440x900 or something bigger, which will make it look better, but it wont make the size of the screen any smaller.

LG t.v is saying no signal on the screen for the cable box and a dvd player.

if the sky box is not registered with your viewing card, it will not show. if you want to check that the monitor is working plug in a dvd to make sure its not the monitor that is at fault.
