I need the drivers for my camera vivican 3815

I have had Vivitar digicam 3815 about 3 years - no problems uploading pics to pc. Then had virus problem, took pc to be fixed, man cleaned and reloaded everything. Now no 'ding dong' when camera connected. Nothing in My Computer. Previously pc always recognised camera, so never needed disk, which I have now lost. How can i upload to pc? Tried driver detective, only any use if you've already got similar driver, unless I've missed something. P-L-E-A-S-E somebody help! If worst comes to worst will have to buy card reader.

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You don't need to use the Vivitar software.

No sound on Vivatar ViviCam3815 when video playback on camera and on computer from camera card.

The 3815 is designed primarily as a still camera. As such it captures images, not sounds. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on this camera.

The camera is a vivitar model 3815

There should be a rubber cover over the USB adapter on the camera. Lift it up and you will see the port to plug in the cable. Good luck.

Vivitar 3815

It's because the batteries aren't strong enough. You are probably using alkaline batteries, which are not recommended for digital cameras because they drain easily and quickly. Use nimH batteries.

Choose your camera from the drop down menu (your camera is there) then choose your language click GO and it will bring you to the page you need to download the driver. Click below the "Driver" name and you will have the option to save or run. You might want to save the file to a flash drive in case you need it in the future. Then run it or just run it from the website.

This should solve your problem

No Cord

If you have an SD card inserted and formatted in the camera and you have an SD card reader/writer on your computer, then you you really don't need a cord.

You can order the cable from
http://www.bestlaptopbattery.com/b.cfm/Digital-Camera/VIVITAR/ViviCam-3815/Digital-Camera-Data-Transfer-Cable-.htm

But, I looked at the cable and Target sells universal camera cables and you probably will be able to get one there. Look at the picture below this is the cable you need.

Camera lens wont open

I have an 8400 with the same problem. By accident, the chrome ring (around the lens) popped off. My lens worked after that! I replaced the chrome ring and it still works.
