None of the lights work on the front of the dryer. It won't turn on, etc. The light on inside of the dryer works when you open the door but the panel doesn't light up. Originally they told me it was likely the fuse. The service guy came out and advised that this is a common problem with these dryers and it isn't the fuse. I have to replace the control board. Apparently the wires are very small and they are fused to the panel. They are always coming lose and not connecting. I have to replace the complete front panel that has the control board connected to it. This is going to cost $235.00 Canadian plus $60 labour. That's $300 to replace for something that is apparently a common problem.

dryer will not turn on, none of the buttons on the front panel seem to respond. The light inside the dryer does turn on so I know it is getting electricity.

I have the same problem and my dryer is only three years old and I am upset that a recall has not been done on this. I have been told that not only one but possibly both circuit boards can be bad ($500) and that it could take at least two weeks for the parts to come in. I wish the company would take the time and look further into this situation as there must be something they can do to correct this problem.

Dryer won't power on

First this, turn off breaker then back on. Next , check wiring from the plug to the back of the dryer. Next ,look under the top and locate a small half inch high disc that would be by itself. Remove the 2 wires nd tape together. This is only temporary.. If it runs, then just replace it and it will be fine. If not, you may have to get an electrician to look at it. However, I believe you will find your problem in the initial wiring.

LER4634E WHIRLPOOL FRONTLOAD ELECTRIC DRYER WORKED GREAT

If you have a access to an AC voltmeter, measure the two slanted connections in the wall socket for ~220 volts. If near zero, measure at the load side of the dual breakers for the same voltage. If still at or near zero, one of the breakers has gone south. Replace the pair of breakers.
If you measured 220 volts as above, then the problem is within the dryer--probably a burned out heating element or open thermal fuse. Major tear-down to find and fix as the heating element is behind the drum.
