Question about Whirlpool LEN2000PW Dryer

1 Answer

My Whirlpool Imperial (Accudry) is not receiving power

My Whirlpool Imperial (Accudry) is receiving power (240v) up to the cord post, which looks good and the screws are tight. The dryer is 8 yrs. old. The dryer does not turn on, the light does not come on, the timer is no clicking. The fixed thermostat (AP3131941), thermal cutoff (AP3094244) have continuity and internal thermostat (AP3045874) outer posts have continuity, but the inner posts do not have continuity. Could this inner thermostat cause the dryer not to have power?

Dryer doesnt heat L1 to N is 120/ L2 to N is 3?/ L1 to L2 is 30???

Electric dryers are 240 volt. You must have a 30 amp 240v receptacle to plug it into. The cord on the dryer must have a compatible plug.
The circuit should not be shared with anything else, and should be protected with a 2-pole 30 amp circuit breaker.

It is possible for only one side of a 2-pole breaker to pop. When that happens one of the "hot" terminals would be dead and would account for the weird voltage readings you're getting which are just stray voltages from the one good side bleeding back. So Check your breaker first. You should get 120v on each terminal of the breaker and 240v between them. The cable leading from it should be 3-wire (red, black, white). It may, or may not, also have a seperate (bare) ground wire.

Then check voltages at the receptacle. You should get 120v between each hot side and the neutral, and 240v between the two hot terminals. If not, then check the wiring connections at the breaker and at the receptacle. Switch off the main breaker (or pull the disconnect) before doing that.

If voltages OK at the receptacle, but not at the control board then replace the power cord.

The ground wire should be fastened to a cold water pipe with a clamp designed for that purpose unless your power cord and receptacle have a separate (4th) terminal for the ground.

My Whirlpool dryer LGT7848AQO imperial series does not heat up. HelP!

Check the fuse/circuit breaker box, you need 220/240V to heat the dryer. If there is proper voltage going to the dryer, then you will need to goe inside and check the limiters and element.

I am looking for information in understanding the proper connecting of the 4 legs of a power cord's legs to the machines recepticles? There are no color identifiers for the Red, White and Black lines...

The following link explains how to connect a power cord to your appliance:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r793520-3_prong_4_prong_power_cord_conversion

If the wires at the terminal block have no colored wires, the outer two conductors (left and right) are the two hot leads. The center conductor is neutral. Ground should be self-explanatory. Ground and neutral are NOT terminated together in a 4-wire configuration. Make sure you attach the ground to the ground lug on the appliance equipment cabinet. If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I went 2 turn my elect whirlpool dryer on,1st it tripped the breaker,i flipped it & it will nt start up,its getting power..though

if your getting 240v to your dryer but will not start and is tripping breakers there are a few things this could be I would start by making sure your cord is in good condition and the terminal block where the power cord is connected to does not look burned or at your wall plug.
