Question about Kenmore 22422 Top Load Washer
We just purchased a top load Kenmore 800 washer machine. We have washed 2 loads of clothes and Now it has stopped filling up with water. It will not do it to wash or to rinse. We have gone thru the mannual - any idaes what happened to it?
OK - I have a solution to my problem with this washing machine. Nothing would work except for one of the spin cycles. I thought it was the main switch - the cycle selection and start switch - but I was wrong. The service tech replaced the switch behind the fabric softener. It's the switch that controls the water levels. Part # W10292584. Our government is forcing the manufacturers to put controls on the washing machine to save water. It's a bad idea and is causing lots of problems. Tech says he's replacing them on a regular basis. Less than $100 if you do it yourself. Hope this helps.

Hoses sometimes have a screen to prevent trash from getting into the water valve. Turn water off, disconnect hoses and check for clogging. If it is a used unit, the valve may have "Given up the ghost". Not real hard to swap out. Check with local appliance store for parts. Don't over look a loose wire. During shipment, driver's never hit potholes. Ya, right. Worst case, the time has quit making contact to the water valve. They can be replace too but alittle more of a headache. Good Luck

Sears is having a lot of problems with a switch on this model that controls the water level. We bought one, had problems, returned the washer, got another one, and the newer one gave problems. Called Sears who sent out a technician who replaced the switch and now the washer works fine. How long will it work, no one knows.

We have a Kenmore 800 washer, model 110-28832700. It washes and when it gets to the spin cycle....nothing...just stops....We have to turn it off...let it just sit for a while, then turn it back on...and it will start again. It's less than 2 yrs old, we have had Sears here several times, last time they replaced the timer....helped for a while now its doing it again. Any advise what it could be this time....its out of warranty, even the new timer, so the cranky rep at the Sears Service Line told me...I made a appt for them to come out again....but her being as rude as she was...Sears never showed for the appt...Any advise would really be appreciated...

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

8 out of 10 times the hose screens are clogged. 1. Remove the hoses from the back of the machine, but leave them connected to the hose bibs. 2. Remove the screen from the hose (it may be stuck at the back of the machine) (This is where deposits usually build up.) 3. Aim the hoses into the drum or a bucket and turn on the bibs. 4. If you don't have a full flow of water coming out of the hoses you will need to remove the hoses from the bibs and reverse the process. Good Luck.
