I have had mine almost 3 weeks and now only spin works. No wash or rinse!! I just got rid of my 11 year old kenmore series 90 washer for this one. The transmission went on it. I must have put $300-$400 in parts from repairclinic into that one before it finally died. Anyway, my 800 washer is dead. I fell for the sears 3 year extended protection so they are on it. I just hate waiting!!!!! I almost was going to send it right back which they would have but gonna try 1 shot to have them fix it.

Same thing. No wash or rinse, only spin. 4-1/2 months old.

OK - I have a solution to my problem with this washing machine. Nothing would work except for one of the spin cycles. I thought it was the main switch - the cycle selection and start switch - but I was wrong. The service tech replaced the switch behind the fabric softener. It's the switch that controls the water levels. Part # W10292584. Our government is forcing the manufacturers to put controls on the washing machine to save water. It's a bad idea and is causing lots of problems. Tech says he's replacing them on a regular basis. Less than $100 if you do it yourself. Hope this helps.

Ours won't fill with water either. Had a repair man with 30 years experience at our home for over an hour. He checked all the switches, circuit boards, hoses...everything works. It just wil not release the water. He told us it was live someone sabotaged it just to see if he could figure it out. He told us that he would have to go and research this further. After waiting a couple days of waiting for him to get back with us we found a great for a new one. In the meantime we still have a washer that doesn't work and don't know why. The good thing is that the repair man didn't charge since he couldn't fix it.

Hoses sometimes have a screen to prevent trash from getting into the water valve. Turn water off, disconnect hoses and check for clogging. If it is a used unit, the valve may have "Given up the ghost". Not real hard to swap out. Check with local appliance store for parts. Don't over look a loose wire. During shipment, driver's never hit potholes. Ya, right. Worst case, the time has quit making contact to the water valve. They can be replace too but alittle more of a headache. Good Luck

Sears is having a lot of problems with a switch on this model that controls the water level. We bought one, had problems, returned the washer, got another one, and the newer one gave problems. Called Sears who sent out a technician who replaced the switch and now the washer works fine. How long will it work, no one knows.

We have a Kenmore 800 washer, model 110-28832700. It washes and when it gets to the spin cycle....nothing...just stops....We have to turn it off...let it just sit for a while, then turn it back on...and it will start again. It's less than 2 yrs old, we have had Sears here several times, last time they replaced the timer....helped for a while now its doing it again. Any advise what it could be this time....its out of warranty, even the new timer, so the cranky rep at the Sears Service Line told me...I made a appt for them to come out again....but her being as rude as she was...Sears never showed for the appt...Any advise would really be appreciated...

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.

8 out of 10 times the hose screens are clogged.  1. Remove the hoses from the back of the machine, but leave them connected to the hose bibs.  2. Remove the screen from the hose (it may be stuck at the back of the machine) (This is where deposits usually build up.) 3. Aim the hoses into the drum or a bucket and turn on the bibs. 4. If you don't have a full flow of water coming out of the hoses you will need to remove the hoses from the bibs and reverse the process. Good Luck.

I have a top loading Kenmore Washing Machine. I don´t have the excat model but looks like a KENMORE HEAVY DUTY SERIES 70 AUTOMATIC WASHER, MODEL # 110.92273100. The problem presents after finishing...

You may have 2 defective parts.
First, make sure the hot and cold water hoses are connected correctly and both turned on.
If the water fill problem is the same, the water temp switch is bad.
The not filling after the wash cycle could be a bad lid switch.
Set the machine for SPIN and turn it on.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

Kenmore top load washer 29822800 - washer-selector is set on one rinse- when machine starts the agitator starts immediately as water fills - then when machine stops after spin cycle in off position water...

if you are saying that the washer finishes the load of clothes and timer goes to off and water is filling the tub after this then you have a bad water valve on the back of the washer.disconnect the water lines and change out the valve

Are you happy with the Kenmore 800 4.0 cu.ft. top load washer?

For large capacity, a front loader would be your best bet. An HE2 by Kenmore should be sufficient. If a toploader is overloaded, it's more likely to do damage. Also a Whirlpool Duet would work. Whirlpool makes Kenmore, so shop for the best price, (they are the same inside)
