My refrigerator won't get cold

My refrigerator won't get get cold.it's been doing that on and off at times since we bought it 4months ago.why does it do that?we turn it from colder to off,and back on,turn the crisper from high to low,and back high, and it still doesn't get back cold untiil a few days later.we have to move our food and milk to the freezer which is only as cold as the refrigerator should be.someone has come and looked at it,and say they can't find nothing wrong.he said the problem was that we had some meat in the freezer in a grocery store bag,and the bag was sucking all the air out of the refrigerator, that's why it wouldn't get cold.there haven't been any grocery store bags in there since,so now what's the problem and how can i get my fridge cold and have stay that way all the time? fridge model #FRT18G6JBO

The freezer does not freeze - food (meat) had to be discarded as it was spoiled.
i have a samsung fridge/freezer. the freezer gets cold and is fine but the fridge doesnt get cold so my milk and food goes off, It is only 4 months old now.

Hi try out the following settings....
Check your temperature setting.
- Check if no ice present in the evaporator, try the defrosting
- Check vents if air is present if no then check your blower if running or icing evaporator.
- Check your vents if not obstructed with stocks, or the unit is not overloaded with stocks.
- Check if compressor is running continues, if not then you need a qualified technician.

i think after checking this it will work out for u.!!!

It could be a couple of things.
That grocery bag is malarkie information.
Did they install or deliver it?
There are 2 things to start we can do.
(1) Make sure the refrigerators front** legs are longer and thus tilt back the fridge so the door seats well. Also make sure it is level left to right.
Did you pull off all covers inside the fridge that normally are closed for shipping? look around, pull out draws. Also do a walk through the owners manuel.
(2) Make sure you have over 6" of free space behind the fridge. This allows the compressor to run cooler.
(3) Find the circuit breaker for that outlet and reset it.
If the doors are not closed well, it will never cool. Did the technician put the coolant gage on the compressor? That could be the issue too.

Only 4 months old and not getting cold? If you bought it brand new 4 months ago, call the store up first thing tomorrow and get their behinds out to your place to either fix the compressor, the leak in the compressor or better yet demand a brand new one. It's more than puzzling to me what the repair person meant by the grocery store bag sucking the air out. I could only imaging he may have meant it was blocking the air circulation vents inside.
Since it does get cold after a few days, I'd say your compressor is the culprit. If it was leaking, it would never get cold. Sorry I don't have an answer you can do yourself, but that's what factory warranties are for.

Hi!

Please check if the condenser fan and freezer fan at the back are workin. Also check for any frost on the back.

Check for any "clicking on and off" noises from the compressor, is the compressor running. Remove the access panel in the freezer section to expose the evaporator coils. If the coils in the freezer section get plugged up with frost, this frost will block the evaporator fan motor from blowing the cold air around.

    Please ask for further clarifications.

    Thanks

It seems like our refrigerator is not cooling well. The lower part of the refrigerator is a little cooler, but the top shelf area is not. We bought this about 4 years ago- new.

We bought our frig exactly 6 years ago (to the date!) and suddenly the frig part is cool, but not cold, while the freezer section stay cold and ice is frozen.

Check your freezer section ! Is the coil frozen over ? If so it may have a burnt out defrost element or a bad defrost timer. When the freezer coil freezes over cold air is restricted to the refrigerator section.

Refrigerator and freezer barely get cold.

Sounds like the condenser fan may not be running. It is located under the rear of the unit. The coils may be covered with dirt too. Either will cause the problem. If you cannot find the problem you should call a servce tech to look at it.
