Question about Gaggenau EB984 Electric Single Oven

Open Question

Gaggenau EB984-611 warming element stays on after operation

There is a heating / warming element in the back of the oven on the right-hand side that seems to stay on after operation - keeping the oven around 200f. I think this is a new occurence and may have only come about after running the self cleaning mode. The controls, including the display appear to be off.
Does anyone know how to shut this off?

SOURCE: Large oven doesn't heat up. Heating element gone??

Hi, In a word yes. As for who you can contact, I'd suggest only an authorized b/s/h (bosch/thermador/gaggenau) service provider. I used to be one for over 10yrs. but now work exclusively for sears...I'm not sure if I made a good choice or not yet, lol ! I digress. It is quite possibly not even the element as the gaggenau have cut-outs (they are actual thermal fuses that cannot be reset, they must be replaced) built into the bake circuit that can open often times. This of course unless you're certain the bake element is defective. Check your local directory under appliance service or a vendor who sells that line may be well equiped to direct you for quality service in someone they trust and are proficient. Hope that helps, good luck. macmarkus :)

SOURCE: Need some detective work!

Hi!!
In order to get the an Owner's manual download you need to supply the E-NR FD numbers on the unit' s rating plate and go to this site https://portal.bsh-partner.com/portal(bD1kZSZjPTAwOQ==)/PORTALFRAME.HTM The rating plate looks like this
1kbron_89.gif

The location of the E-NR - FD numbers can be also found in the unit itself. Here are some usual locations, I know your appliance is a double wall oven, but I could not find a picture of one, so I got the closest thing available, an electric range w an electric oven. 1kbron_62.jpg
1kbron_63.jpg

Now, if still you can not find the oven's rating plate, I suggest to take a couple of pictures of the oven, find a GAGGENAU dealer nearby, there is an email address and Ph. # on the link above. Or, click on the SERVICE tab, select Gaggenau Worldwide from the menu to the left of the picture, select the Gaggenau Dealer closer to you, contact them and send them the pictures, explain your situation and if they can provide the E-NR FD numbers to download and owners manual. Good luck!! A HELPFUL - 4 THUMBS - rating for this solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: The lower oven does not

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

It sounds like the hi-limit safety thermostat may be tripped due to the self clean, I haven't seen anywhere in the recent dialog where this has been mentioned or that you've checked it though, have you checked ?

Unfortunately it is the non-reset type hi-limit on these ovens,( if the oven is indeed a JKP56 model ) It is shown here and is behind the grill between the two ovens...
macmarkus_190.jpg It is available at "repairclinic.com" parts vendor for approx. $30USD. but if you jump it out to test it and then replace it, we can get you back up and cooking.
** Turn off the breaker before attempting any service please...safety first **

Let me know how you make out or if indeed you've already checked the hi-limit thermostat. I'll watch for your reply. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Hi, I have a Gaggenau DF261160/11 dishwasher, which seems to not heat the water when washing. Does anyone have a service manual for this product?

Does it hot dry the dishes, this would indicate the heating element is ok and the cause is the control board.

Oven 388-610 won't heat up past 100F.

Hello. I'm not familiar with your particular unit but if it operates like most other brands, the display doesn't show temps under 100 degrees. From what you're describing, the oven isn't heating at all. I would suspect either a defective bake element or, an open thermostat which cuts the electricity to the elements if the temperature gets too high. If the safety thermostat checks good, then the problem most likely is the main oven control board--which simply activates a relay to turn on the element.

Kenmore duel fuel oven wont heat

I take it this will be an electric oven. If so the likely hood is that the oven element has blown and will need replacing. Normally when elements short they will trip the houses RCD (once only normally)

I just moved into a house with a Gaggenau EB 846-6. Light and fan work. Heating element doesn't seem to work in top or bottom 'socket'. Also, neither heating indicator light illuminates

since neither light is going on, then i believe that you either have a bad thermostat, or possibly that you only have half of the voltage going to it, and gaggenau doesn't have gas units so it doesn't have a glow bar like the previous guy said.

GE Profile JTP85 (installed 1998). The lower heat element in the lower oven will not heat. I can make the upper element heat up by using the BROIL function, but neither element gets warm on BAKE.

The oven doesnt heat up

If it is a fan assisted oven and the fan is working o/k, then it is likely to be a faulty oven element, this is usually located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeanble cover.

I have a Kenmore 9114012190 oven it does not heat properly anymore the top and lower elements get hot but it will hardly get anything warm that is placed in it ie; bread has to stay in it for 45 mins to...

start by checking your input power for a full 240volts,then check the terminal block for any burned off power input wires, then check power connections all the way thru the oven control and finally check for "hot-spots" in both elements(highly unlikely that both would be bad) its a discolored area that is a high resistance area not passing full operating power thru element(s)

Gaggenau oven won't heat on convection setting

this could be due to more than one cause selector switch faulty elements faulty. however this would mean both elements gone - there is one at the top and one at the bottom also worth while looking at the wiring to the convection elements. does the thermostat neon come on when convection is selected?
