I have an acer aspire 4720z and can't figure out how to decrease sensitivity

I actually tried doing this--but there is nothing in the Mouse or Keyboard option that shows the touchpad. I recently had to replace my harddrive and am wondering if I need to install a driver for the touchpad(?)

Please clarify, sensitivity of what? Do you mean the touchpad?

Hi there.
Go to the control panel and select "classic view" (on the left hand side) click on mouse or keyboard and mouse, there you will be able to set the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

    Hi again linda
Go here to acer support, click on drivers and utilities and download "touchpad_Synaptics" driver. Install it and you should be able to decrease sensitivity from the utility.

make sure you know whether its 32 or 64 bit first.

Good luck and again thanks for using Fixya!!

My acer aspire 4720Z is reporting a smart event and that the hard drive may fail. what is your advice? what should i do?

The smart software is useful in evaluating the performance of the hard drive, if you have sensitive data I recommend backing up the information on a external hard drive, or cd/dvd disc, or a memory stick, and consider replacing your hard drive in your laptop.
