PS3 no longer works

Ok so we've had our PS3 for about a year now or so and it's worked great. Today however it epicly exploded Lol. The PS3 will turn on but the screen is black. We've checked all the cords and all are plugged in ok. Our Tv is on the right settings and everything. Also the controllers wont connect to the PS3 anymore either, plugged or wireless. If you can help, please do. =]

My PS3 connection isn't working very well. Please help me!

If you found speeds that low,do a speed test on something else in the same area of the house(laptop) with the same site simultaneously. If you don't get a similar result.you know it's the PS3.If you do get a similar esult, retest the laptop closer to the router. If the laptop is now OK,then you've got some interference somewhere. If this is where your diagosis took you, consider running an Ethernet line from the router to the PS3.If the PS3's Wi-Fi is the trouble, you can get an Ethernet adapter that will run through your coax wiring to the router from Verizon(called a NIM-Network Interface Module). This would be a great option if you have a coax outlet where the PS3 is.Try running the PS3 with an Ethernet cord first to make sure it's just a Wi-Fi issue in the PS3 and not something that is affecting both.

Hi I have a brand new 320 GB PS3, barely a month old. Worked up until today when all I'm getting is "no signal". I've tried using other HDMI leads (component also) and TV's (mine is a Samsung...

Try these steps first -

Turn the PS3 off into standby (red light on)

Press and hold the power button. It will beep when you first press it, then beep again 5 seconds later. Release the power button when you hear this second beep

Wait for the PS3 to reset its display.

This will now choose the best setting for your TV and everything should be ok.

If you still get problems, go back to where you purchased it from or contact Sony, as it is under a year old it is still within warranty laws etc

Hope this helps

I turn on ps3 (green button comes on)but no picture on tv , tried on another tv same thing worked great until today

You can try a hard reset. Hold down the power button until the system turns on and you hear two quick beeps. Then let it go. This should reset your system so it will detect what sort of video setting you're using.

Registration of the trophy information could not

Here’s what’s going on right now: something with the PS3’s internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3’s clock. This clock is NOT related to the OS clock. It seems to be a leap year bug. Setting your clock ahead will do nothing. All PS3s around the world were affected at the exact same time.
Does this affect me?
-If you have a Slim PS3, you’re good to go. Continue playing it as normal.
-If you have a “fat” PS3, you may be affected. Some fat PS3s have worked ok, but it seems a good majority have been bugged.
What does this bug mean?
-If affected, your date and time has been set to a random past date. This prevents you from signing into PSN, playing any PSN games, or using any DLC. Your trophies will also not display correctly or be able to sync.
How do I fix it?
-You can’t. Even if you don’t sign into PSN, it won’t help. This is a hardware issue.
So, what do I do?
-Wait 24 hours. Other products that have had similar bugs have corrected themselves after the “bugged” day. On Monday around 6pm central time, all PS3s will automatically correct themselves…maybe.
-If that doesn’t work, we’ll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.
Did I lose my data/themes/etc?
Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They’ll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they’ll be fine if you’ve synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.
If I have a bugged PS3, can I still use it?
It’s probably not a good idea, as I have no idea what will happen to the trophies you earn during the bugged time. Movies/media will work fine.
vxx

Ughhh, I see that others are having the same problems with their PS3. I bought a PS3 for my two sons 2 years ago for $400. It won`t play cds, or movies. The little bubble or icon comes up on the screen,...

take apart the ps3 and clean the laser lens with a que tip if this doesnt fix it you may need a new blu-ray drive that you can ussually find on ebay for $50 ish, just make sure when swapping it your carefull with the logic board attached to your current blu-ray drive as you have to use this with the new drive because ps3 locks each logic board to each ps3.

Turning on PS3 causes home wireless network to stop working

I have the same problem. My router is located about 1.5 feets from the PS3 and when I turn on the console my wireless network barely works. Something I did was change the frequency of the wireless. It was working in channel 9 and now it's on channel 3 with no problem.
