Question about LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer

WM0532HW LG front loader washing machine displays LE

It seems to run for a minute or two filling up with water then stops and displays LE. I have tried unplugging it an emptied the water and cleaned out the grate at the bottom of the front of the machine. When I restart it the drum seems to spinn around so the motor isn't locked up. What else can I do because I can't go long without a washing machine. If I need service who do I call?

LE codes are extensively covered in past Fix-Ya solutions, but are generally caused by only a handful of things. 1. the " Load Error " can be a very off balanced load. 2. excessive use of soap leads to too much suds, and thus drag on the inner tub. (use 1 tablespoon of HE soap max. per load) or 3. the Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty. Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000.

I had this problem today and was ready to start in with the screwdriver, however, and happily, once I removed the wet clothing from the machine and turned the cycle on again, ther were no problems and my machine is running perfectly. I had a load of lots of smaller items in the machine that sort of glopped together and when extra water was added it must have unbalanced the machine and with the water being heavy the drum wouldn't turn. I think that in the future, I'll be sure to add a sheet or some larger piece of clothing to help keep the load more balanced.

Thank you so much. My machine is 8 years old so we had to pay for the part, but the sensor solved my problem. This posting saved so much time and money!

LE CODE ON MACHINE AFTER FILLING WITH WATER, ROTATE A COUPLE OF TIMES THEN TRY TO SPIN BUT COULDN' T

If this is an LG front loader, this is a solution from LG that worked for me 2 years ago, and has been well-rated on Fixya:

Unplug for 10 minutes. Turn back on and press the Rinse & Spin button, then set Spin Speed to No Spin. Run this cycle, which should work fine. Afterwards, you should be able to run your machine as normal. If this doesn't work, replacing the Hall sensor would be the next step.

If yours isn't an LG, please post an update with model information so helpful people can give more specific assistance.

I have a LG WASHER,FRONT LOADER WM0532HW KEEPS FLASHING LE,THE DRUM WILL NOT ROTATE

LE stands for locked motor error.  The first thing you should try is simply unplugging the machine for 10 minutes.  If the problem continues the next most likely cause is the hall sensor.  To get to the hall sensor remove the back cover, then remove the wheel that is attched to the drum.  Undre that wheel if the stator (motor).  At the bottom there is a sensor that spans about three of the windings.  This is the hall sensor.  It is not very expensive.  If neither of those work you will need to replace the Stator (motor)

Washer spin and not enough water

Spinning both ways is pretty normal. You did not say if your clothes were clean in the end. You may not see much water when it washes, when it rinses you may see about 1/3 thru the glass. Careful with the door aft wash, wait for 2 minutes before opening.

LG front load washing machine will not spin

I am having the same problem with my washer. Go to this web site below it has a free troubleshooting guide. I narrowed my washer machine down to two parts. Stator assy or Main PWB assy.
