Question about LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer
It seems to run for a minute or two filling up with water then stops and displays LE. I have tried unplugging it an emptied the water and cleaned out the grate at the bottom of the front of the machine. When I restart it the drum seems to spinn around so the motor isn't locked up. What else can I do because I can't go long without a washing machine. If I need service who do I call?
LE codes are extensively covered in past Fix-Ya solutions, but are generally caused by only a handful of things. 1. the " Load Error " can be a very off balanced load. 2. excessive use of soap leads to too much suds, and thus drag on the inner tub. (use 1 tablespoon of HE soap max. per load) or 3. the Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty. Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
