Change the spark plug being sure to set the spark plug gap as recommended in the owner's manual. Then clean or change the air filter. Finally use new high test gasoline. good luck.

Use a good quality silicon lube and spray into the top of the cable. Do this until it comes out the bottom, a little at a time. Also, spray all pivot points. Don't use WD-40, it will freeze. Lube everything at the end of winter and again before winter.

Did you check under the handle area, near the blower itself for a transmission lever? This will engage & disengage the transmission.
