The phone speakerphone and bluetooth work, but the earpiece has no sound. A local verizon wireless technician said the phone speaker had water damage and tried to fix it. No luck. Can you help?

no sound on keyboard or earpiece/ phone well ring but i cant hear anythiong/texting is fine//happened suddenly/no water damage

Have the same problem with the phone. The sound out of the earpiece is not working, but i can hear the ringer just fine. I can plug in an earpiece, and it works fine, but there is still no sound out of the ear piece. It says that there was water damage on the battery, but i have never had any water damage. I take good care of my phone and I have had it for a little over a year and a half, so I can imagine it is a problem with the phone getting old. The Verizon tech also said that it would be $50 to replace my phone :/

I had the same problem. I think the manufactures make it that way convenitly when your waranty is up. Then they try to say ts water damage to get you to buy a new phone,

I have had nothing but problems with this phone. I've had the Env (4 of them now) for about a year. Every few months random things go wrong with it. This time I cannot hear anything out of the earpiece. I am very careful with my phone so I don't understand how I keep getting bad ones.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is a very-well known issue and defect. Documented by Verizon Wireless and by the manufacturer. There is supposedly a workaround, which is a simple as pressing the speaker key right next to the "CLR" key, however I have tried it on several phones to no avail. Recommend warranty replacement.

SOURCE: earpiece

the speakerphone speaker is actually just kinda resting inside the phone. If you have dropped it recently it might have just become disconnected and you can have a proffessional put it back in place for you. If you really want to attempt this yourself you can email me at and I will send you a guide on how to do this. I don't recomend it though

SOURCE: LG enV earpiece and key sound not working

go to tools and setting --> sound settings --> keypad volume...see if you see "KEYPAD VOL-EARJACK"...that means that your phone is stuck in EARJACK mode....get a wired ear piece, plug it in, make a call, and then unplug after you end the call....that should resolve your problem...

My phone turns off and wont turn back on all the wayit freexes at the verizon wireless screen.

The reason your phone is not coming up and freezes when you try to turn it on is because the phone is having a software problem, it probably have contacted virus either through bluetooth, applications, downloads etc.

All you have to do is to flash your phone with the appropriate software and cable.

After you have gotten the phone flashed, then your phone will work perfectly fine again.

Take care

Were is the sim card in an LG enV

Verizon's network does not use SIM Cards, only if you have a Blackberry and your going out of the country -would they give you one.

Since their phones are built to pickup CDMA signal, most of the phones don't have a spot for a SIM Card.. Because the phones can't pickup sim card signal..

But your local Verizon Wireless store can hook up both the phones to their system, to do a phonebook transfer for you! Or you can signup online for backup assistant through verizon. Backup assistant is where Verizon saves & copies your contacts onto the website - and then when you hook up a new phone, you use get it now to get backup assistant on the new phone, and it will copy the numbers over for you. If you signup online, it's free.

My LG VX 5400 only works on speakerphone.

Do you have a Bluetooth headset? If so, your phone may have inadvertantly connected to your Bluetooth headset, resulting in no sound from the phone unless on speaker. You can test it out by making sure the Bluetooth power is off....from your phone's main screen, hit the "menu" button, then go to Settings and Tools, then Bluetooth Menu, then hit the "Set Off" softkey on the lower left side of your screen. If the softkey reads "Set On", then your Bluetooth power is already off. In that case, remove the battery while the phone is still on, wait 30 - 60 seconds, put the battery back in, power up and see if issue is resolved. If not, contact Customer Service for your wireless provider.

sorry you cant as Verizon blocked this feature for some reason, though you can get the file off of the phone on to a computer and then send it to the rumor via bluetooth.

With use of Jawbone, recipients on enV get voice echo

About three months ago I bought the LG En V touch from a verizon store. I planned to use it with my old "New Jawbone" and my new "Jawbone Prime". The phone would nto pair at first then when they finally got it to pair I had a variety of problems. Verizon technicians performe a number of different steps trying to make it work as it was supposed to. They even reinstalled the software after about a week and a half I persuded the Verizon stor manager to replace the phone with a new LG EnVtouch and they exchanged my Jawbone Prime also. The new LG EnVtouch had the exact same set of problems. Neither of these phones worked any better with the bluetooth in my Garmin NUVI either. I loved the design and the features but if it doesn't work why bother. I returned the second LG EnVtouch after aabout five more days of frustration. And went back to my old phone. If you buy one of these and it doesn't work return it fast and let them know what you think!
