Try resetting the TV. Here's how to do it - Unplug the TV's power cable. Keep the Channel Down and Volume Up buttons on the TV pressed and plug the power cable back into the outlet. You will hear a click when you plug it back in if the reset is successful. Hopefully this should restore your video and audio.

you need to reboot the tv. you've got a signal drop which locks up the tv. call sharp tech support and they will talk you through a reboot.

The power light indicates a problem (usually) with an internal problem. Usually there is a pattern to the light. (for example 3 blinks then a pause, 3 blinks then a pause etc.)
A service tech can use the code to help determine the problem.

This same thing happened to me, but not until I fiddled with all of my remotes, trying to see if it was an input issue, battery issue, etc. I finally unplugged the tv from the wall and plugged it back in. Nothing. Then I went to take 5 minute ****. When I finished, the Power & OPC lights were blinking, and out of sync. I pressed the power button at the top of my TV and got a picture.
Word.
