Dell inspiron 530s is giving me major trouble. When ever I turn it on, the power button lights up and the fan turns on but then thats it. There is no activity on the monitor, just the loud noise of the fans blowing.

Warranty is up.  I take it that this is not a quick fix problem.

I have the EXACT problem and I thought I was the only one. As i was online, the screen truned black and it kept making that sound. When i tried to reboot it the only thing that is happening is the orange light on the power button lits up but never turns blue and the sound goes on forever.

I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE BACKGROUND FADING IN AND OUT. COLOR/CONTRAST IS CHANGED AND IS A HAPPENING WHEN THE MACHINE IS IN USE AFTER ABOUT 10 MINS.

I am not having this problem exactly, but my grandfather is. He has had nothing but trouble with his Dell Inspiron 530! At the moment when you try to start it up you get the fan noise instantly and it stops ... then fan then it stops ... then fan then it stops and that is pretty much that. There are no beeps at all, it just turns itself off. Occasionally after trying this process numerous times we can get the computer to run but it really is a rare occurance.

When I try to boot up in the morning, the Dell 530's power light and fan start up, but nothing else happens. I took the computer in for repairs, and it started up the rest of the day without them having to do anything.

    The next morning, nothing again.

Greetings, My Dell Inspiron 530S has a small

I did not look up the manual for this one. But most computers have a flashing light when the hard drive is accessed. When the drive is accessed you can hear it to. So looks to me you have a good working computer. If the sound of a hard disk is loud, you are in trouble. You should start making backups of everything if you did not do that before. If it is really just the fan, you should clean the fan and the inlet (outlet) of the airflow. most fans will accumulate dust and that will influence the warming up of the processor (your Dual-core E2160) causing the fan to run faster and faster, not capable to cool the processor enough. Often you can blow out the dust, without opening the computer, but if there stays dust in the commuter and you are not technical enough, please ask a technician to clean pup the compete airflow.

My Dell 530s rebooted last night and when turning on it acts like it is starting, but the fan just runs and the button is showing an orange light and the fan continues to run- nothing on the monitor.

Hardware failure - most likely the motherboard has failed. If you don't have another pc to swap components for testing then it will be cheaper to just buy a new one than to have it sent to a repair shop.

How do i unlock my dell keyboard?

Dell Inspiron 530s keyboard unlock
Is the keyboard usb or ps2? If its usb then try another port. If its ps2(Green) then power down the pc by holding in the power button for 8 to 10 seconds. Pull the plug and make sure no pins are bent. Plug it back in and boot back up. This should fix the problem if its ps2. Regards

Inspiron 530S won't turn off

The one method that will always work to shut down a frozen computer is to hold down the power button on the front of the computer until it turns off. When you turn it back on, it will give you an option of different startup modes, and unless it really is a serious problem, you can just go with "start Windows normally".
