Question about Lexmark X1270 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I just tried to scan with my Lexmark X1270 that worked fine the other day now it says AIOC exe has encountered a problem what has happened t change how it works

You need to update the driver for your printer. Using your install disc, just follow the normal install process which will work as an "Update Driver".

If you do not have your original disc, follow the steps below:

  1. Make sure you have the regular printer driver installed. If you don't, you can grab it from the Lexmark website and install it.
  2. Next, keep your USB cords plugged in but turn your printer off.
  3. Download the All-In-One Center Software here.
  4. Unpack the archive, open the "Applications" folder, and double-click Setup. This will install the application - it can take a bit.
  5. Once the application is installed, turn the printer on and try a test scan. If it works, you're good and can quit reading.
  6. If you get an error when running a test scan, don't panic. Reinstall the regular printer driver, using the "Update Driver" option that appears.
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Do a new test scan. This should bring up the All In One Center's loading screen, which will start searching for programs (this can reallllly take a while). When it's done, everything will be working beautifully again!

First step. Please make sure you are using one of the Vista drivers on the Lexmark website. www.lexmark.com.

Most often the problem is caused by using the driver for XP on a Vista system.

go to www.lexmark.com and download and reinstall the software again... that should fix it up

What you need to change is your screen resolution to either 800 x 600 or to 1024 x 768 (in your desktop settings)
What is happening is that your Lexmark all-in-one center doesn't think your monitor can handle the program (or something to that effect).
You will NOT have to restart your computer either.
Just restart your Lexmark All-In-One program and you can start scanning.

it could be software problem. try to reinstall the driver including the utility software. make sure that you install it correctly with no errors.

This is what i did to fix the problem

>I went to Dir "C:\Program Files\Lexmark 1200 Series"

>I then found the file (aioc_app.ini) I cut this out and pasted it to my desktop.

>Then I opened up the lexmark all in one center program and there you go it was working.

> placed the .ini file back in the folder

Tried this twice and got the same results both times.

Wil only Print from a program - will not open to use all in one scan, copy


ok..first things first..remove the old s/w from control panel..unhook printer

go here for freshest driver

those ones that come pre installed MAY or MAY NOT be most current..

Lexmark X1270 scanner problem


The only way i can get my Lexmark X1270 to scan is to use the Windows Vista "Windows Photo gallery" to scan :

Start > All Programs > Windows photo Gallery > File > Import from Camera or scanner > select the scanner > save scanned file to your computer

This is the only way I have been able to use the scanner on my lexmark X1270,hope it works for you too.Be lucky.
