Maytag dryer does not turn on

Checked door switch by crossing over wires still nothing happened is this the control panel not working?  It has electricity and breaker is on.  But no power to dryer.  I crossed the wires to the door switch with negative results Is it the control panel problem?   The knob does not seem to stall in the on position.  No kick when pushed in.  The dryer is 10 years old and in really good shape Is this my problem or should I just get a new dryer?
Doing the repair for brother in law who has little money.  Not sure I am on to what the problem is but can change out control panel if that is the problem  just do not want to waste money if this is not problem.

You probably have a blown thermal fuse located on the heater cannister.

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Power From The House

Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? If you plug something else into the outlet, does it work? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.

Door Switch

If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch. Check for continuity you should have none with door open, and should have a reading when closed. If not replace the door switch.

Thermal Fuse / Thermal Cut out

On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel or behind the front panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing or is sometimes round and made of metal and plastic.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse this is the most common reason for blowing the fuse. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)

Wiring

Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, burns and the connection breaks. In this has happened to your dryer, you need to replace the power cord and the terminal block inside the dryer to which the wire is attached.

Maytag Dryer will not turn on

It doesn't work at all If your dryer doesn't work at all, it could be because of problems with:

Power from the house
Door switch
Thermal fuse
Wiring

Maytag stacked washer/dryer Model LS7804

OK it may be one of 2 things. I would check the lid switch first. On some maytags the have a lid switch that if it is not working properly it will not let the washer fill. If it will not fill the washer will not wash because the pressure switch did not activate the timer to wash. If the switch checks good you might have a bad timer. If you open the control panel you will find a tech sheet with the wiring diagram. I would follow the fill cycle and check the components. You might also check the water valve to make sure its ok too. But its very rear that both the hot and cold would go at the same time. Good luck!

Maytag Dishwasher Doesn't Start

on a dishwasher an ohmmeter is almost useless. the best way to check is to look for voltage. at the door switch check for voltage to ground on both sides. if you have 120 on both sides of the switch then follow the wire over to the control board. if you have 120 going into the control board and nothing coming out of the control then you nood to start looking for a broken neutral. however the likelyhood that its the control panel may be a better idea especially if you are hitting buttons and nothing happens. try reseating any ribbon cables
