HP Photosmart C6180 won't scan documents

My C6180 Photosmart All-in-One is connected to a wireless network. The printer works great in conjunction with our laptops, but I can't get it to scan to my computer. I get the message "No Scan Options" on my C6180. What am I doing wrong ?

My 6180 won't scan any longer. I've reinstalled the software etc. and no luck. Some say that with the automatic updates with HP and Vista that this is the problem...some where there has to be a solution as this is happening to hundreds of others with HP printers with Vista.

Ran in to the same problem today. Also having trouble with scanning to memory device. I plug in my usb key and it tells me it's an unknown device. I've scanned to this key successfully before.

Maybe those were instructions for a PC--I seem to remember a solution center when I used a PC--but I'm not quite sure it tracks on a Mac with Snow Leopard. Here's how you should be able to get it to work on a Mac: - Open System Preferences - Click to open Print and Fax - Click on Options and Supplies - Access the Printer Webpage - After placing your document on the faceplate, hit scan on the computer screen. Then you can preview your document. Since I wasn't sure where I'd find the resultant jpg file, I just did a drag and drop to my desktop and invoked the "save as" option.

No scan options comes to you becuse you dont have the sloution centre configured properly to your destination list.It is nothing to do with your printer hardware. You need to popen up solution centre and populate the destination list to a desired location.

I've been able to print from my laptop wireless to printer HP C6180. Only lately, printer was unable to get wireless signal. My other desktop could print wireless to HP C6180. I tried uninstall driver...

In this situation your wireless printer might require a power reset before you print each document. Though the printing activity will take place efficiently you will have to physically go and power the printer to enable it to print. This problem might require you to reload the firmware of the router and set the wireless printer to manual IP address in order to make it work seamlessly no matter how many documents you have to print.

Wireless HP 6180 PhotoSmart All in ONe will not scan document to my computer

Well its the issue with the printer drivers taking a dynamic ip address.all you need to do is uninstall the printer network drivers, insert the s/w cd that came with the printer and then click on add a device ,it would install the printer drivers all over again.

In order to have a network connection you need to connect your printer to a wireless router that you have. make sure that your computer is already connected to that network.
1. Connect the printer to the router wirelessly. Press the "setup" and then press the arrow key and look for "network". Press ok when you see "network". Press the arrow key and look for wireless setup wizard. After you have successfully connect your printer to the router press ok
2. Check the ip address of the printer by printing wireless configuration page.
3.install the software for the printer

Please Help

How is the printer connected through your pc? Is it wireless, wired network or USB cable? If it's wireless, check if the printer is connected to the network. Ping the ip address. If replies, check the printer ip on printers and faxes and make sure it matches the ip on the printer itself.
