At first, the moultrie worked well in the woods. Then, after turning off and changing batteries (new set of energizers) and a new 1 meg SD Card, the camera began to shoot continuous pictures every 1 minute; every 5 minutes if I use that setting. It just flashes ongoing until the SD Card is full. All other functions seem to work fine except it continously exposes frames with no motion setting it off. Can you help me solve this problem?

Re: moultrie D 4.0 continous exposures
..your not in "Interval Mode", are you?? IF your cam is set to start an "interval @ say 2400hrs( midnight) and to take pics every 1 min./5 min/;ect., IT WILL! Make sure you're in "AUTO MODE"...It's easy to accidently hit the mode switch when moving the power switch from off to on..(I didn't find this out by reading a book...)
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Just to let you I had Moultire m-80 when I used a pny sd card it ruined my camera. They were kind enough to replace it for me. I just use what they recommended do not have any more problems. I only delete pic on my computer and not digital camera. Try doing a hard reset take everything out turn to the on position for about 2-3 minutes after 3 min put brand new battery's in it while on the on position should say no card at this time. If doesn't turn camera off put sandisk sdhc card in it. Test camera again if still not working Moultire will help you I have talked them great customer service.
ERROR CODE 000480 ? If this is correct,it relates to: Camera Mod test failed;(4); and under Memory Test, 8= Comms Error.New batteries(good ones) may fix it... It' not communicating with memory card..ck it's inserted good..press down until it stays down(press again and it will pop up. Follow instructions on deleting internal memory before installing SDcard. Also, make sure cam supports kind of card you're using..at 4gb and larger, they become confusing;i.e., 4/8/16mb...older cams won't support some of these. Also there are HC(high capacity); HD(high definition)don't work in these cams.. I posted this for a fix a few days ago, and it turned out to be brand new bad batteries.
Forget calling Moultrie...I think their answering system is permantly set for "off-hour" times...you may have to e-mail them several times be fore (after4-5 days they get back to you. You're error should read error"0200000"...flash error or flash charging...getting this during system diagnosis probably is that you failed to cover sensor during ck. I f this is a constant error...turn cam on; remove batteries; turn system off; insert batteries and try again. .
extreme hot/cold effects battery life...also # events, whether pics taken or not 2 million gray Ark. squirrels, that never stop moving like red squirrels will use up batteries in a hurry...even still I get 3-4 mos out of 6-dcells on my I-40s
On my Moultrie MFG-DGW 2.1, I was unable to change settings etc... It seemed to be locked at the Date/Time screen. I powered off the unit, removed the memory card. Turned on the unit. Then I could change the settings. I made my changes, powered the unit off, reinserted the memory card, turned the unit back on and it read the card and I could make changes too. This happens from time to time. I just have to follow those steps to clear it.
