If I'm reading this correctly, do you want someone to have to put in a password to be able to use your network connection?

Answer to the above is yes.

If someone trys to connect to my belkin secure network connection.

I want them to be able to connect by having to type in a password.

If the person knows this password then they can connect.

I wish to know how to setup the password in the belkin settings.

    Thank you

    Thank you Bill

The problem is now resolved, this was achieved by selecting the wireless settings in the Belkin browser page and checking the Radio button for WPA this option allows a Network Key to be saved in the settings or password?

With this Network Key this allows anyone to access the wireless network secure, providing they know the Network Key that they are required to type and enter then connection is made.

Can you please tell me how many connections can be made at any given time using the same key or password.

    Kind regards

If I'm reading this correctly, do you want someone to have to put in a password to be able to use your network connection? If so, you would have to set up a secure connection. Let me know if you need to know how to do that.

With a secure connection you do have to put in a password. I dont know what you are really asking. You talking about a secured wireless connection?

First you have to access the administrator page for your router. In the address bar where you usually type in a URL (like instead put in and hit Enter. This will open up a page that lets you change your wireless settings. On the left side of the page, find Wireless and click it. This will open your wireless configuration. Change your SSID (that will be the name you give your network) to something you would like it to be called. You'll also want to put in the security settings which will be the PIN needed to access your network. I could walk you through this step by step but instead I'll give you the link that explains it far more thoroughly than I could.
You'll want to start at page B49. There probably isn't much need to read through everything in the manual to do what you want. When it comes to your PIN, make sure you either write it down or make it something easy to remember but not easy to guess.
Please keep in mind that you WILL be setting up a secure connection in order for someone to get on your network with a password.

I don't know that there is a limit to the number of connections. Of course, the more peoplel you have on the connection, the slower any internet activity will get as there will be more people sharing the same bandwidth. Unless you have a dozen people on, I doubt it will be of any consideration.

Sorry but i didn't get it, Do you forget the Network Key of your wireless of you forget the login password for your belkin router?

Let me tell you both solutions.

1 If you forget the network key - then you can login to your belkin router and go to the wireless and you will get your network key there.

2 If you forget he login password of your belkin router so just look at the back side of router there must be a reset button which will reset your router and password to the factory date.

Need passwword for belkin wireless router

By default, Belkin routers do not have a password, just click on Submit to log in..But you should check check your Belkin router setup documents.

If you forgotten or lost router password cannot be recovered. It can only be reset by hard resetting the router.

Securing my belkin router with a network key

first you need to find the default gateway of the router,u need to do this settings in the computer which is wired to the router, securing the network over a wireless connections is not suggested..
click on start, run, and type in cmd,hit enter,a black box should appear in that box type in ipconfig and hit enter, once you hit enter it will give u a lot of results check the default gateway the generic default gateway is,might be different in your case incase if you have setup in a different manner, now open an internet explorer page and remove the website name that present in the addess box,now without http or www type in the numbers,it will tell you to put in the user name and password, username is admin and password is blank (this is generic to all the belkin routers provided you have not changed it earlier,if u ave changed it then put in the user name and password that you have setup, now it should open a belkin router page, now in that router page you will see an option that will says wireless, under wireless you will see an option that says security, click on security, and then under security page you will see security mode, from here you can use the security type that you want to use and then save the changes once it has saved the changes you wireless netwokr will be secured.

PS:make sure the computer is connected with a wire to the router when we are setting the security in the wireless network....

Lost codes

On the back of your router there is a reset button, hold it down for 3o seconds or so, this will reset the router back to factory settings, the default user name and password would be admin, note that sometimes with the belkin you only need the user name and not the password. Usually you need admin/admin though.

The default IP address to access the router when its reset is

Hope that helps
