Question about Akai LCT3701AD 37 in. LCD Television
Sound works picture does not. Tried to get repair shop to look at it they wont touch it because they say noone can get parts for AKAI anymore. Any clues on what may be wrong and where I could get it fixed.
AKAI power supplies very often have bad electrolytic capacitors. If you
know some one that works on electronics see if they would be willing
to replace all the electrolytic caps on the power supply board. Replace
them with the same capacity unit but with a higher working voltage. For example a 100 mfd 15 volt cap should be replaced with a 100 mfd unit with a 25 or thirty volt rating not the under rated 15 volt. Total parts cost should be under 20 bucks plus any labor you might pay.
I have repaired 6 units using this method.
Good Luck hope this helps
