Question about Panasonic PT-51HX41 51" Rear Projection Television
Re: Panasonic PT-51HX41b
As reading your advice has help me diagnosing the problems with my Panasonic PT-51HX41b TV I thought I would pass on some information, but was not sure of the actual part number as I do not have the service manual to properly ID the part. Any way over a year ago I replaced the the two STK392-150's and the feed resistor bank R7048 - R7051.
However in my case the resistors are 10k not the 2.2k that I see referenced a lot. Maybe a different version of the chassis.
What I wanted to pass on that after a year post repairs the TV started turning off by it's self and back on randomly, but only when cold. A good sign of a cold solder or cracked trace.
Sure enough after a long check with a magnifying glass I found it! On the main board just below the AC daughter board there is a Blue rectangular box (relay R801)and it had two cracked solder joints.
Hopeful this info will help you or others with their Panasonic PT-51HX41b problems.

SOURCE: No voltage to convergence chips
There are usually 2 micro fuses that resemble 1/4 watt resisters around the power supply, and are usually all green, tan or yellow, and in most cases will have a + or - voltage marked right near these fuses 20 to 25 volts dc typical.

Sorry about that Boxerman My Computer picked the wrong time to hang. No the reason why I tell peoplle to get the Hitachi Kit X480295 is becuse this forces them to get good parts, not only are there some spare resistors but the Ic's are a higher wattage and will last longer. When people seee that the orginal Ic's the STK392-110 go from anywhere from 5.95 to 37.00 for what they belive is the same Ic they almost always get the 5.95 cheep'Os. Then in one week or less the Ic craps out and they don't know why
So the Kit that has The higher wattage STK392-150 in it and for a good price is a bargan. , Now you said you have a Hitachi giving you trouble till it warms up, that is a whole differant problem and is most likly in what is called the 3DY comb filter and a few caps on that board have or are failing

The 2 STK convergence ICS are dead, all the resistors too,if it is smoking and glowing.Tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it again.Find the correct tv make and model. The convergence kit buy from one of these website's will have all the parts to repair it right this time.
