The wand has no suction

I cleaned out the vacuum, the filters etc. It vacuums like a charm but the wand has no suction and when I take the wand off it fights me to stay. Any ideas?

Hi!  Could you please try and explain what you mean when you say the wand "fights me to stay"?  Have you checked the U-tube at the bottom of the main vertical tube?

There's a clog somewhere then - probably at the end of the hose which means you should take off the hose at the bottom by the cord clip and have a look. Also check all inspection air ways to ensure there are no clogs. Usually if there's no suction through the handle a tell tale sign is that something has either got stuck or there's a tear in the hose. Hope that helps.

Attachment Pole will not stay in down position and loses suction.

There is a wand catch that holds the attachment pole to the unit. It's above the power switch. It easily comes off and Sears has it for a pretty cheap price like $3. Without this wand catch the handle attachment pole does not stay put. Good Luck

Filter queen vacuum head has no power

More information needed. When you turn on the vacuum do you hear the motor running? Is the problem that there is no suction at the head? Is there suction at the canister when the hose is removed? I would first check to make sure that there is no obstruction in the hose. Have you checked the filters to see if they are clean?

My Hoover windtunnel has very little suction. I have cleaned the entire vacuum. Cleaned filters. My Hepa filter is a little torn, don't know if that could be issue. After cleaning it does suck a tad bit...

Is the belt still intact?
Does it has a wand tool, normally they are connected at the bottom of the machine,if it gets plugged up with gunk, that will greatly reduce your suction.

Loss of suction, sucking air through hole on side of housing. Whats causing this?

The air hole on the side is a secondary air release if the suction is not reaching the dust collector detachable bucket. I had this same problem, if nothing is clogged in the hoses try scrapping all the dust off the cylindar screen filter inside the top of the detachable dust collector, I didnt realize that my filter screen had so much **** on it so I cleaned it off and the vacuum worked like a charm. Now the air can flow through unrestricted.

Hi my dyson dc18 has great suction from wand but when you got to use the vac for floors little suction but wand still got suction even while vacuming floors is it suposed to stop suction from wand

My Dyson dc18 had the same symptoms. The wand worked well and the floor bar had no suction. After removing pieces & shoving my fingers into the machine (no blockage) I found the suction pipe rotates between two positions (floor and wand). It looks like a piece of plastic broke on the outside housing, so it no longer rotates positions when the wheels are raised or lowered. My son found we can move the suction by sliding a finger into the mechanism behind the wheel cover, and rotating the plastic piece clock-wise or counter clock-wise until it locks into position. It's a big pain but it works for now. I wish I could find a replacement piece online. Patty

Vacuum not picking up

At the top of your wand, do you have a plastic swivel that cover a hole in the wand? This is for when you are cleaning curtains, and if that is open, or cracked you will loose suction there... also check your hose for cracks, or breaks. If it were in the shop I would put a gauge on it... normal suction is about 80-95 inches of water lift at the end of the hose. Once you have check each section of the hose, and wand, check the housing for cracks, a missing gasket (Very Good Reason For Lack Of Suction) As to your Filter, how long have you used that one filter, you can clean them for a while, but once a paper filter gets full of FINE dust you won't get it all out, you will have to replace the filter itself at that point. I hope this was helpful.
