COULD BE DO TO ICE BUILD UP. IT MAY NEED A NEW GASKET OR FLAPPER DOOR. THIS NEEDS TO BE TIGHT.! . TO FIX THE LEAK TILL YOU GET THE PART USE A PLASTIC BAG AND A SOCK(CLEAN?) AND FROM THE INSIDE PLUG THE ICE DOOR HOLE ..
This is probably due to the door flap in the ice chute not closing tightly. There is a solenoid that operates the door that
could have stopped working. Can you hear it?The hinge on the door could be broken or the
bracket it goes in could be broken. You'll have to look to see what's
Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the
bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it.
When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.
I have a similar problem. The repair guy took a look at it and stated everything is working and did not order any solenoid or any other parts. After he left the problem returned where ice comes down the chute it tends to lodge and keep the door open. I am disagreement with the repair guy and am leaning toward the idea that the spring has lost tension and is just too weak to close with any authority. There is a video on how to replace the spring on youtube. This is what I will be doing next weekend and will try to return to post results.
