You need to have a technician come out and do a couple of things. First determine if the oriface on the burners is the correct size for the type of gas (Natural or Propane) then he should adjust the gas outlet pressure. Also is this a vented or vent free set up. Good luck and please give me a Fixya rating.

36ECMII pilot light won't light

If you go to this link http://fmisupport.hcents.com/supportdocs/54024F.pdf it will take you straight to the owner's manual.
Now the gas log set is completely seperate from the fireplace. You would need to find out the model of the gas log set as any manufactuer of vented gas logs can go in this fireplace. Just for clarification the brand is actually Coleman but it was made by FMI. Now, the SPVBPD is a direct vent gas log set that was only designed to go into either the Amity, Oxford, or Victor hearth gas stoves. If you have the SPVBPD burner in a 36ECMII then you honestly need to remove that log set, as it was a burner only rated for direct vent fireplaces, and get a set of 18" LP vented logs. If you look at the link below you will see the owner's manual for the SDVBND. These logs need to be removed and you can go with any 18" vented log set. I suggest Peterson (http://www.rhpeterson.com/realfyre/vented-series/)
as they have the widest selection of logs and biggest array of dealers. Good luck.

Why gas log fireplace releasing black soot

Logs are likely not placed properly on the burner. Option two is if they are a vented gas log soot is normal, but only on vented sets. Unvented Logs will be soot free. Soot is a sure sign of Carbon Monoxide. Install a detector if you do not have one.

I have a desa fireplace and it is not working. it is model T36N and would like to know where i can purchase parts to fix it. I live in las vegas nevada zip 89141 thank you

Most parts in gas fireplaces are universal, the valve/thermopile and thermocouple are generic parts and should be found at your local gas fitting supply stores.

If you describe what you tried to fix the fireplace thus far I could give you better advice to which part you need to replace in order to get it running.

Alarm in Camper keeps going off

New trailer giving off fumes from chemicals and glues used in building process, various aerosol sprays, humid weather, are just a few things that will cause them to go off , as well as a faulty detector. Even too many people sleeping in a small area where detector is located, with windows closed, will cause it due to excess breathing causing high level of co2. Double check fumes not entering from Fridge, water heater, or any other source of open flame. Pay attention to when it goes off, and what is happening and running at the time. Low voltage to detector as well, can cause it to go off.
