The typical firing order on a four cylinder engine is 1-3-4-2.

The order is 1,3,4,2.
1 is the one furthest away from the coil pack.

Hi, I have a problem starting my Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 from cold or in wet weather ive replaced the HT leads but problem is still there the engine light is now staying on, please help!

nick, the best way to sort out your car is to get a diagnostic done(a main dealer has the kit,as does kwick fit)that way you can decide if you want to do the job or pay them to do it.(its too expensive for us to buy the computer)ask for a full diagnostic, not just the codes.

Firing sequence for 1999 ford explorer ...(changing spark plugs)?

if you are not sure what goes where with the ht leads why not tie a lable to each one or only change one at a time......say left bank then right bank....you do not have to take all the leads off to change plugs.

How to change the spark plugs on a 1.6 zetec ford

get a plug spanner (more a socket than a spanner) and after removing the plug lead, use the spanner to remove the plug. Do one at a time so you dont get the leads mixed up or it will not start.

Ford focus i.6 zetec 02 plate: engine management light came on and car runs as if runnin out of petrol,n like there a block in the air filter?please help

check the wiring to the plug conector on the coil pack as the wires usually brake.
if they are fine check the coil pack and ht leads as they are known for going down too.

please let me know if this helps
cheers

Ford focus zetec 1.6 auto, Misfiring and no power

It's normal for the cat to get hot - given they've replaced everything (just about) that could cause your problem - they have not looked at the injectors and O2 sensors. If you had something burning in the engine bay it was most likely electrical and you should look for burnt wires. You probably have a short in the ignition system or fuel injector wire harness. It's nearly impossible to diag a problem like this without having the car first hand. It must be throwing check engine light codes. Get the codes and post them. Also try a different shop at this point.

Escort 1998 1.8 zetec mis firing

try using a gauge to measure fuel delivery pressure but this tool may only be available to the dealer or a big garage, best advice in a case like this is put car in dealers as you cant read the the ECU readings as the OBD II connector cable doesnt have manufacturers pin connections.Have a funny feeling this problem is a concoction of different faults, but try checking gauze filter on bottom of pump in the fuel tank or for porosity on the flexible connections that connect the plastic fuel lines to the unit on the tank .
