Question about Samsung CLP 300 Laser Printer

1 Answer

A spot on all my printing.

It looks like a clear label like the ones I use for X-mas because I took out the back and found three labels in different places. I thought by pulling them out it would clear the problem. Still remains. Put it back together and the message is "blocked at the paper exit". It looks to me as if the glue on the label melted onto something hot. Printer only less than two years, great machine. If you have an idea I'd like to hear it. I can take it apart ably but didn't want to go any further.

Thanx, I guess I was right. If it needs to be replaced, is it worth the money or just replace the printer. When it worked it was great, but someone (Samsung) should have warned users about the glue. Do you think it's something I can do, or is it too internal. Again thanks for your help. -f-

you may have glue on the fuser, in which case it needs to be replaced. The fuser is the unit that fuses the toner to the paper, hence it gets very hot. Glue and heat do not mix well together.

I could not find the service manual from it but I saw (on an Italian website) that the fuser is accessed by openiing the rear door, It usually held in by 2 screws. Make sure that the unit is off and cold. Don't want you to get burned by a hot fuser.
Looks like the fuser is about $100 and up:

It's clearly your application, since a test print appears normal and all systems appear normal. Is it possible to reinstall your application ?

Hope this helps.

The machine prints about 12 labels and then prints about 25 empty ones, prints 12 and the pattern repeats. Restarted the computer three times and restarted the printer five times, nothing helped.

Hold in the Feed button for 4-5 seconds, which causes the printer to attempt to "Auto-calibrate." If that doesn't solve it, then slide out the Media Sensor (green plastic bar that sticks out over the labels) about 1 inch from all the way in ("in" = left if looking from front). Then press Feed to clear errors. If still get same error, then look for piece of label or ribbon stuck in that error - ok to blow out with canned air. Then try holding in Feed again for 4-5 seconds to Auto-calibrate again.

Print alignment problem. Prints across 2 lables. not sensing the black line on back of label roll.

As it turns out, a good cleaning took care of the problem. I suspect the sensor bar was dirty so it could not detect the black line on the back of the labels for alignment.

Thanks anyway!

I eventually managed to print my labels one sheet at a time by forcing the label top edge down the page. You can insert one or two lines above the label template and adjust the font size to get the right distance. It took a bit of trial & error but got there in the end. Hope it helps you

Does it still print on plain paper? Check to see if you are missing one or more labels as they may have come off and onto a roller or other part. I've found that label sheets with any labels removed prior to printing are always prone to loosing labels in the process of traveling through the printer.

You've probably tried this, but I did have success today with Avery 8160 labels. I had been using 5260 labels. There is a difference at the top of the page in the way the backing lines up with the labels.

It's not the printers, has to be the software.

Label Printing

I had the same issue when using Avery labels, here's what resolved it for me.

Go to Control Panel, Printers, go to the active default, right mouse click, click Printing Prefrences..., change the drop down "Type is:" to 'Other Photo Paper" and apply.

You should then be good to go!
