Right then, on the back of the virgin box there are 2 scart outlets, connect one scart from the TV scart port to the scart in on the DVD recorder, then connect one scart lead from the scart out on the DVD recorder to the TV. Find the DVD recorder source channel on the TV and then use the DVD remote control to find the digital input on the DVD recorder, this is usually AUX channel. Post back if you need any more help

if you connect the dvd to the tv using scart socket 2 (av2) it should send a signal to the dvd, depending on the make/model of tv, you also may have to set the av2 output in the menu. Alternativly, connect the sky to the dvd input and the dvd output to the tv, this should also work.May have to watch the tv with the dvd on set to av.

with your tv swiched on, Turn your sky box off then keep your finger on the backup button whilst turning your box back on, make sure you keep your finger on backup button until all the lights come on on the front of your sky box, or a message comes on screen (tv) saying "UPDATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE, DO NOT DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS, THIS WILL TAKE APPROX 10 MINS"

Easy set up, Hook up all the components to the back of the TV normally and then use a stereo cable from the tv to your reciever.
Usually on the tv it says audio out or variable audio out, this will go straight to your reciever on one input allowing all devices on your tv to be hooked through your reciever on one cable and the sound will come from the tv and reciever at the same time or you can turn the audio off on the tv., you can also hook up any optical audio outs from your devices to your reciever as well. This will allow for surround sound to your reciever.
