Question about Makita Gd0600 Die Grinder

Loud noise coming from above paddle switch. Sounds like a baseball card in a spoke almost.

Well I took it apart and deduced that it has something to do around the fan. The O-ring may have something to do with it. I can't seem to get the fan unit fully apart, for fear of breaking something else.

Could be quite a few things from something in the fan to a coupler that is splitting apart. I would recommend going to Makitatools.com and typing in your model number and downloading a breakdown if you are going to fix this yourself. Let me know if I can help, it has been awhile since I worked on one of these.

Did you go to Makitas website and look at a schematic. The fan is pressed on and sometimes it can be hateful to do. It would be best if this is the problem to have a repair center press it on for you. Let me know

Anyone know how I change the cutting disc please? I know this sounds really basic but I can't jam it as I turn the key tool.

here is a generic image of common die grinders. I imagine your's is the same. Now you need to "Jam the shank with the tool numbered
37 above. Its the slotted wrench. Once its properly secured you should be able to use a flat head screwdriver to loosen the retaining screw.
