They are peeling inside. Only had 3 years. What do I do?

bakers use black steel trays in which to bake bread
they are only covered in butter to stop sticking so if you follow the same procedure it will be alright
the covering that is coming off is probably the non-stick teflon coating which medical evidence proves not to be good for us as it breaks down with heat and age and is basic carcinogenic in nature
Look at all your old non stick pans and ask yourself , where did all the covering go?

Is it possible to restore the teflon surface of teflon coated pans on which the surface has become scratched (in this case Jamie Oliver Tefal Frying pans)

No. There is no effective repair procedure for the pan once the teflon coating has become scratched down to the bare metal or begins peeling off.

You can continue to use the pan safely, but the non-stick surface will not be as effective as an undamaged coating would be.

Never use metal forks / spatulas / utensils on a teflon coated pan.

Instead try using thermal rated plastic, teflon, or wooden spatulas which will not scratch the pan coatings.

Good luck.

I purchased Kenmore pots&pans in Feb 2010. I have no receipt, but the pans are all peeling inside teflon. Is there a warranty for this product. I spoke to mgr. at store, she offered no help. I am very...

Teflon is not nice to eat!
Without a receipt of course the store will give you the runaround. Did you pay by Credit Card? If you did, there will be a record with your CCard company and therefore proof of purchase.
Contact the manufacturers, they may help.

I have a whirlpool gold and the ice maker keeps overflowing water and freezes all over the freezer-**** the water will not shut off?

That is almost correct, but first you need to make sure that the ice maker itself is ok. Look into it and feel it with your hand, if any of the greyish green teflon coating is chipped, cracked, or peeling, the ice maker will need to be replaced. If not, then you need a new water inlet valve assembly. You can order this part at, Reliable Parts, using your model number. For guided instruction on how to perform your repair, please reply.

Peeling Teflon

It is exclusively badged for QVC and they are the people that should be able to advise you if replacement parts are available.
From a health point you should cease to use it if it is peeling Teflon is poison and causes carcinomas so better not cook in it till its replaced

Water leaks inside unit wher selenoid calls for water

The fill tube that goes into the water cup of the icemaker make sure its in with a clip on the cup to hold it downwards. Sometimes the clip is off and the tube sprays out of the icemaker. Also check to see if flakes are in the ice. That would mean that the teflon is peeling off and forcing the water out of the icemaker.

Paint inside lid peeling off when I cook

From Weber.com Don’t worry, it’s not paint. The inside surfaces of our grill lids are not painted, they are coated with baked-on porcelain enamel which cannot peel. What you are noticing is a deposit of grease and smoke that collects during normal use. During use, the grease and smoke vapors slowly oxidize into carbon and collect on the inside of your lid. This deposit will eventually peel, and looks very similar to paint. The peeling normally starts in the center of the lid and spreads outward. It may come off in sheets or flakes, and is shiny on one side and dull on the other. These carbon deposits are non-toxic. But you might want to regularly remove the build-up. Fortunately, the peeling is easy to remove. Simply brush off all loose particles with a brass brush before you start grilling. To prevent future build-up, after every grilling session, while the grill lid is warm—not hot—wipe it with paper towels or a mild soap-and-water solution.

Teflon peeling off inside pan and going into the food

Teflon is very dangerous. I discovered this when I got birds. Teflon is so deadly that if it is even slightly heated (by having a pan in the drawer below the stove) by having the oven on, it kills birds - immediately. It becomes airbourne and is that toxic. I know of so many examples of bird's dying from it. Can you imagine how tramatic it would be to be cooking and your bird drops dead. I had to get rid of all my pans because of them. And I'm glad for it. So it would be, not deadly, but not great to ingest for humans. Teflon is also in some heaters so its good to check that too.

Rival Electric Skillet S16G

Hi, Your skillet is either defective or someone has left it on high with nothing in it. Either way, if it is still under warrenty, I would try and return it. As there is some debate about the toxicity of teflon, I would be very careful about using this unit any further.

If you are going to keep the skillet, try using steel wool to remove the loose teflon, maybe even sanding it all off if you want, then polish with fine steel wool and use the skillet as a regular uncoated electric fry pan.

Hope this helps, and if you found this response satisfactory, please vote. Thanks and good luck.
