Hi there. You can't import the video because your camera records and puts out video in mpeg2 format. Windows Movie Maker will not read that format. But...good news! - Here are two things you can do to work around that problem.

1. Use the software that came with the camera to capture the video and import the resulting file into Movie Maker. OR
2. Connect your camera to your computer using an analog connection (like S-video cable) and capture the video using Movie Maker.

That will fix your problem. Thanks for coming to FixYa. Let me know if you have any other questions and if you're satisfied with my solution, don't forget to rate it a fixya.

How do you get videos from your camera onto your

if it has a card ...just plug it ...(put the driver ) ..and will be found as a removable device in my computer folder...open and locate the videos...there is a possibility that the videos to be in a separate folder...but this is not a rule ...just locate them cause will appear different than the jpeg picture..and will be bigger on mouse point ...and copy paste them on computer ...this is the easy way ..
if you computer do not see the camera as a removable device into the my computer folder...you need a photo manager to import from device ...ACDsee will be just fine ...
install it ...be sure you have the driver installed to assure the communication ...after that open the manager ..and click on import from device ...choose the camera by name from list ( it will list more than one device ...)and next ...than select the video and clik import ..or ok ...it will put them in a folder in my documents with the date of the day ...or named by choice ..
if you can not locate ..please tell me and I will link one for you ...and do not forget to rate me ...thanx

2. Restart the PC/Laptop.

3. Now, connect the two devices for importing pictures!

Device not ready

CNET's review states that this camera connects to USB, but no mention is made of it being compatible with USB2. Theoretically it should be compatible since USB2 ports are supposed to be backwards compatible with USB 1.1. Yet I have other USB 1.1 devices which will cause "device not ready" error messages when I try to connect them to a USB2 port. Interestingly, the CNET article doesn't list Windows XP as a compatible OS. Another person posted that he received the same error message when trying to connect his camera to his 64-bit XP computer.

In any event, Largan's web site doesn't make any mention of them producing complete cameras -- only camera components. Perhaps their foray into the digital camera market was less than successful.

So, while this isn't truly a solution post, perhaps it may point you in the right direction as to possible causes of the device not ready error message.

I just purchased a Dell Studio Hybrid and tried to install my 6 year old Chameleon Mega driver. It tells me the software was found, however when I click on the Chameleon logo, a message "device not found"...

The software/drivers from the older Chameleon Mega camera is most likely having a compatibility issue with the newer operating system and hardware of your DELL computer.

With XP and especially Vista, whatever drivers and software are installed, it is very important that it is designed for these newer operating systems and computers.

You should contact the tech support for your Chameleon Mega camera to see if it is still supported for upgraded software and drivers. Something that is six years old is considered ancient when it comes to electronics and computers.

I have a panasonic digital filming camera the NV GS60 and even though it isnt the best program i just want to upload the footage onto windows movie maker how do i do this?

Hi, I believe that camera comes with a firewire cable. Does your computer have that? If so, just connect the camcorder to your computer and power on the camera. Your Operating system should recognize it. Then open MS moviemaker. You can control what footage you want to capture from within moviemaker. It is timeconsuming and requires quite a bit of free disk space as the imported files can get rather large and hard to work with once they are over 1GB.
