DA59-00314A MY refrigerator stopped cooling on both sides. Has bad odor. The fans and condenser run when plugged in. When it is plugged in i noticed that only the first two/three coils get cold and the rest are not. Seems to be me the coils may have a leak or the thermostat is not registering for enough refrigerant to flow. The evaporator fan does come on and run. Any help diagnosing will be appreciated.

SOURCE: refrigerator side problem

most likely has a low refrigerant level due to a slow leak.you can call for service and have them add some gas to the system and it could be ok for a long time or if they can locate and repair the leak,it would solve the problem.call a few service companies and explain the problem.Ask how much each option would cost and decide if the frig is worth it

My Frigidaire gallery fridge not cooling at all

Are you calling the compressor condenser? My gallery side by side stopped cooling the refrigerator side and it was the control board under the refrigerator side. Also, just because the control board is new does not guarantee it is good. There are a lot of youtube videos on trouble shooting the Gallery. You might not have plugged in all the connectors when you changed the board, or maybe bent some pins.

Condenser Fan Shuts off after 15-20min, Compressor continues to run but gets hot

Condenser fan motor or motor wiring is bad. That compressor should never run without the fan. Good luck.

My fridge(& freezer) started giving off a bad burnt odor then stopped cooling (amana 25 cubic/mod #afd2535fes). any suggestions as to what it might be?

You said it stopped cooling, does the compressor kick on, or is it dead? Is the condenser fan operating (the one that blows across the condenser grill by the compressor)?

Is your condenser grill clean? What indications are you getting specifically?

9-10 year old Frigidaire Gallery FRS26ZSH refrigerator stopped cooling as only the fan was running and not the compressor. Cleaned the lower coil and fan of a small amount of dust. The unit worked for 1-2...

might be your compressor relay gone bad. if the condenser fan was running and no compressor that could be the case. Also could be a bad compressor. you could try installing a 3in1 start kit. cost about $30. if doesn't start with that then compressor is kaput.

GE Eterna stopped cooling. Not even 2 years old!

The noise if you listen close is probably the klixon cycling because the compressor is hot. If the condenser is plugged (real dirty), sign of a clean house, and/or the condenser fan is bad you will not get cooling. If the condenser fans operating properly and the fans inside the freezer and refrigerator are operating that would indicate serious problems assuming the compressor is operating.

Good Luck,

Door and rubbers are extremely hot and we are burrning ourselves while opening and taking food out

Your refrigerator has a stopped up Condenser Coil that needs cleaning with a vacuum cleaner. Also check that the Condenser Fan is working. The Condenser Fan may be bad....It sits under the bottom of the ref near the compressor and runs to cool the compressor. Hopes this helps! Handy Henry

Freezer works Refrigerator will not cool down

The compressor should be OK this time because you caught it in time. But if the condenser fan stops you need to consider replacing the fan. I have had refrigerators do fine until the fan motor warms up and you are away, it stops. Don't think you should use the refrigerator until the fan is fixed. Sea Breeze

Not cooling after smoke damage

Assuming that the motor is running, my best guess would be that the condenser (a large grid of thin piping) was covered in soot, and should be THOUROUGHLY cleaned, preferably with compressed air.... The condenser will either be underneath the unit, behind a small panel in the front bottom of the unit, or at the back behind a cover at the bottom of the fridge which runs the whoile width. Make sure the fan at the back near the compressor is also running....if the condenser fan is not running when the compressor is running, it won't cool. If the condenser is excessively dirty, it won't cool!
