setup on the program they are to be used with.Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to
broadcast on messengers or Skype.

No, you can install it now. There should be no issue with upgrading later. Only thing I would suggest is that you check if the webcam is compatible with Windows 7, but I think almost all Logitech webcams are, so no issue.

I do have a new computer and recently I did install Yahoo Messenger.After all I was trying to make a PC-to-PC call without any luck,because of sound unknown problem. The webcam is a Logitech QuickCamCommunicate STX. I also got a message from my computer saying that "This computer does not support the required audio compression format".
