Hi. I don't work on many Frigidaire's, but that pesky ball bearing does not go into any of those grooves. It goes in the very back center of the cradle, sandwiched between the ball and a metal strip on the back side of the cradle. (It is suppose to drain off static electricity from the drum. If it gets lost, it's not a major loss) As for lube, just put a gob of the stuff that comes with the kit in the bottom of the cradle before reinstalling drum.

After replacing valve coils it now makes thumping noise reassembled it twice

Thumping noise is usually something with the drum system. You didn't list make and model so I'll give a few suggestions. If its Whirlpool--- the drum rides on 2 rubber rollers at the back edge that wear and need replaces if the rubber gets too bad. The front edge of the drum has a 2 piece plastic bearing strip that snaps into square holes in the front drum edge. Those 2 strips sometimes break or chip and need replaced.

If its a Frigidaire dryer----the back drum bearing is a small round metal ball that looks like a small trailer hitch ball. If fits inside a slotted plastic retainer block. The plastic block wears and the ball sometimes gets grooved and needs replaced. It comes as a complete kit (ball and socket) for about $20. The front of the drum has a similar system plastic strip as the Whirlpool I described above. Hope this helps.

I have a Frigidaire Gallery dryer model gler341as2 that squeels cer loud at times. what kind of grease do I use on the back shaft and tensioner?

That is a Hi Temp grease. It is sold under a Frigidaire part number
#5303307893. If any of the parts at that back ball assembly are worn, it should be replaced. Don't try buying the parts separately, they sell a complete back bearing kit that sells much cheaper than if you purchased each part. The kit also comes with the HI temp grease inside. Here is the kit # 5303281153. Includes that trailer hitch looking ball and the socket it fits into. Also look at the drum front edge. Should be a plastic bearing strip all the way around the drum opening that just snaps in place. Its in 2 section. If broken or missing replace those also. Thats the front bearing surface..

What causes a clicking sound on 2000 300 m chrysler front wheels?

The ball bearing balls in the CV joints can wear a groove when running in a straight line. When turning they cross the worn groove and make a clicking sound. Not a serious problem until you get abnormal tire wear.

My Hitachi NV45AB is leaking air from the trigger air valve. The gun still works if I just keep the trigger depressed and just smack the tip into the shingle.

Remove the 3mm roll pin holding the trigger in place and set aside the trigger plunger (white plastic plunger should have an oring on groove). Remove the fitting that holds the trigger plunger and replace vinyl ball #875645 or check for debris under ball. Good luck with your repair.

If it fell out then it can't do it's job which is to regulate the pressure within the pump and is "shot."

Model fde336resi loose drum

There are 2 areas to check for this dryer drum. The back center bearing looks like a small trailer hitch ball which is attached to the drum. It fits into a plastic socket on the back wall of the dryer. To remove the drum, you need to take the dryer front off and disconnect the belt that goes around the drum. Then use the belt as a handle and yank up the back of the drum to lift the ball of the drum out of the socket. The plastic socket is what usually wears but you can get a complete kit including the ball and socket for about $20. While the drum is out, look at the inside edge of the drum opening. Should be a white plastic bearing strip completely around the opening. If cracked or missing replace those also. Should be 2 strips. Thats all that supports the drum in the front.

My dryer is a model number GLER341AS2 and when I turn it on it makes a sreeching noise. Now the screeching has turned into a louder noise almost like a rubbing thud.

The symptoms you describe indicate that your dryer drum bearings are faulty: there is usually a large 'felt' bearing around the opening which support the drum and prevent metal to metal contact (screeching noises)- The drum must be removed to get to this front bearing (which is normally glue to the dryer front panel at the drum opening): it is not a trivial job and is not normally replaceable by end-users.

Hope the explanation helps.

In 2008 first 4th gear and later 2nd and 4th gears kept jumping out. I was told that all the bearings and other components inside the gearbox were worn out so Ihad them overhaul the gearbox. A few months...

a gear box place should know more than me but this can also be caused bye a little ball bearing and spring .... these 2 things push on the selecter shafts and fit in to a groove that holds the shaft in the right spot .. that is what u feel when u change gear and it stays in position ....... the spring - springs can looz tention .. brake or the ball can wear or the groov it sits in to can do the same making it not hold in position ... 2nd and 4th are prob on the same shaft and this problem useully happens under load or taking off quick ........ i think they call them retainer springs and ball

Leaking at point of connection between tip and wand

There is a rubber o ring in a groove towards bottom of the snap in connector. This seals around the tip as you insert it. It will never seal without it. The ball bearings you mention are only to hold the tip in place. The sealing goes on down in the coupler
