SOUND CARD NOT INSTALLED IN MY SYSTEM AS I DONT HAVE RIGHT DRIVER FOR THE CHIP SET k8S MX ASUS MOTHER BOARD AS THE SOUND CARD IS ADI AD 1888 SOUND MAX. WHERE CAN I GET THE DRIVER FOR WINDOWS VISTA

If you are running Windows Vista,
and you have the soundmax AD1888 Chipset,
you have no sound in Vista . . . relax, this problem is common.

Try the following soundmax AD1888 Drivers in this torrent.

You will find 2 maps in the downloaded file.
1) Use the swsetup, there is a setup.exe in it, install, then reboot your pc. You should have sound now.

2) If this does not correct your problem,, update your driver using device manager,
with the other map (Vista-Driver-Vista)

This has worked in nearly every instance :-)
Follow this link below to the file. Please be sure to provide appropriate feedback for me if this helped!

Sound driver is not installing.

If its Vista then forget about using your existing sound system. If its not a laptop then you can add a sound card in any PCI slot and the driver & if u are using Vista make sure your new card is Vista compatible. If OS is winXP then you may be able to download the appropriate driver which support HD (high density) sound cards....sodeep

Cant find sound driver for K8V-MX motherboard for vista

Parth,

Unfortunately ASUS has not written drivers specifically for Vista.

It could be that the sound chipset is INCOMPATABLE with Vista.

But before you give up try Win XP's and Win 2000's driver (They do share SOME architecture with Vista and just might work.

If that fails you can type in your soundcards name (Soundmax) and "Drivers" into your preferred search engine and see if someone has written a third party driver for it.

If this fails, I'm sorry to say it looks like your options are limited.
1.) Get anew sound card. There are some very affordable ones on the market

or

2.) Give up on Vista and put your previous Windows back on

Hope this helps

Audio - Vista 32Bit

There only drivers written for
SoundMAX Audio Driver version 5.12.01.3663 WHQL driver for Windows 98SE,ME,2000,XP
No VISTA yet.

You can call ASUS and ask them if they are planning to write them,or pick up a new sound card that will be compatible with VISTA.

Vista driver

you will need to find the manufacturer of your sound chip eg Realtek and then go to their relevant site for drivers if supported, although it may not be as there would have been drivers within the Vista Operatring system installation.
