Whenever i get/make calls on my lg arena i cant access any control over my call, that is my screen goes blank and i cant use my keys too... if any one have any solutions for this problem please let me know..Thanks.
I followed instructions from this link and it fixed my lg770 screen from going black after dialing a number:

This problem has come up recently with my Chinese "phablet" operating under Android 4.1, this to the point
where I was ready to send it back (sadly because I love it). I finally tried to set the Als_ps calibration
(in "settings", "display") while covering almost all of the screen with my hand. This has done the trick and
my phone now works flawlessly, the screen comes back on as soon as I lift the phone from my hear and I do
not need to push the power button. GREAT
Kindly remove the screen protector sticker this will definately solve your problem

In a reasonably Dim room not bright sunlight Dial 1809#*900# enter the Engineering section scroll to others then Proximity then recalibrate the sensor, mine worked perfectly after that tip
SOURCE: i cant answer an incoming call, the screen goes black
you need to recalibrate the proximity sensor. this is what stops you from pushing buttons when you are in a call ect. to do this go to main menu > phone settings > proximity calibration. from here you can recalibrate the screen which should fix the problem
