As we dont know the TV make you can use code search method.
It basically searchs the codes automatically.
follow the below steps to set remote without codes
Code Search: 1. Turn on the device you wish to control. 2. Press and hold "CODE SEARCH". 3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button. If programming an AUX position, press and release AUX first and then press the device type to be programmed. 4. Release "CODE SEARCH". 5. Press ON/OFF repeatedly until the device turns off. 6. When the device shuts off press and release ENTER. 7. Try using the remote. If it does not function repeat steps 1 through 6 To Get The Code Please Go To Below Website: http://www.rcaaccessories.com/remotefinder/ You need to select the following information from the drop down list 1.Model of the remote 2.Type of device to which you want to program(TV/DVD/VCR)

I assume that pushing the channel up and channel down buttons does nothing. You could try unplugging it overnight and see if it's forgotten its settings come morning.
But if that doesn't work, you're probably going to have to get a universal remote and program it to your TV. Quite a number of TVs (and DVD players and VCRs for that matter) no longer have a full set of controls on the TV. Some things just can't be done without the remote (a fact that really irritates me).
the only thing you can do is get a replacement remote. the chepest alternitive would be to go for a universal one but dont be fooled into bying a cheap one if your tv is a sansui /you can also find secound hand electronics parts dealers on the net they should have a cheap origanal remote
Perhaps channel 4 is the only channel programmed? Try reprogramming your channels. Perhaps a universal remote would give you direct access to the channels. Your channel up or down won't work with only 1 channel programmed.
My beko tv can to tune to the pal BG to give me the sound. it only gives me picture, when i try to tune it to get the sound i only get the pal I insteard of the pal BG. the tv came from the UK. can sombody give me some code to change from pal I to pal BG? thanx.
Just had the TV repaired for the same issue. According to the shop it was a bad channel up/down switch. That impacted the other functions (menu not working, remote malfunction) because they're all intertwined. Only about a $75 fix here in the DC area, so maybe cheaper elsewhere.
