I have had the same problem for about 6 months, and never paid much attention to it. I also noticed that when trying to change the menu color, the colors do not show up correctly.

Now it seems to be getting worse, and so I started doing some research, starting with the Sony site. That is when I found out there is an extended warranty for the KDS series (50a2000, 55a2000, 60a2000, r60xbr2, and r70xbr2) TVs because of an optical block issue, until June 30, 2010, no matter when you bought the TV.

You can see the recall here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/news-item.pl?news_id=277&mdl=KDS60A2000

It seems they are extending the warranty, but not doing a recall. In other words, they aren't telling anyone, but if you happen to find the information, they will replace the optical block, if necessary. The closest I could find to the green hue issue is a purple haze on the screen.

I don't know if this is the problem, but I have scheduled an appointment to have the optical block changed. I will repost after the optical block has been changed and inform whether this is the fix to the problem.

Either way, the optical block seems to be an issue and would get it replaced whether you need it or not.

The follow up: The optical block was the issue. The repair cane it and changed it, and I saw the difference immediately. I have since sold this tv, (not because of any other issues, I upgraded to a 73" 3D tv by Mitsubishi). The tv was sold to a friend, and it still has no further problems, as of now.

Joe,
Actually, the Sony KDS60A200 is not a DLP set. It is closer to an LCD set (it uses LOS). There is no color flywheel in this set.

Jean, you can't go around posting this on every TV problem you see. This set is not even a CRT set it is DLP. The fact that you didn't know that should alone tell you that you shouldn't be giving advise on how to fix them. People that don't really know what they are doing can really mess up their TV trying to fix it with the wrong advice. That site is for a specific problem on some Sony sets. Please be careful on the advise you give. I know you are just trying to help. To the person with the TV, I don't know a lot about DLP sets but I can tell you the site she posted is totally inappropriate for this set. Please research this problem more. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I stand corrected on the DLP part. I didn't research this particular set (lessen learned). This set uses "SXRD" technology (Silicon X-tal Reflective Display). This set is closer to a LCD set like you said except that it uses 3 panels to project the picture as opposed to 1 like in flat panel LCD sets. At any rate, the site Jean posted was a "fix" for CRT' projection sets. It was designed to help extend the life of some Sony sets that are known for having CRT issues. Thanks for the clarification.

If audio is OK, the fault is with its backlight section. If audio too is absent, the fault is with its digital main board. If you wish to get more details visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

More than likely the power supply is defective, but without testing and the repair manual that is just a guess, you make the decision to replace or repair the TV.

The color on my TV is all pink. I have tried a hard reset but it didn't help.

Your TV has lost a GREEN color from a basic color palette (Red-Green-Blue). It is often caused by:
- damaged LCD cable (which connects the display with a signal board inside the TV),
- damaged video signal cable (ex. SCART, HDMI, VGA),
- damaged video processor (on the signal board).
I can't give you a more accurate answer, because I don't know what is your TV mark and model and, in what situations you have the problem.
