It can be fixed...this is happening because you changed the sd card that contains the gps software. Uninstall the gps software from the device ( remove installed programs) and then install again. If it shows you again the same error, your gps software is pirated and you must buy an original one, or find a better cracked one ;). Remember : DO NOT DUPLICATE ORIGINAL SD CARDS because the licence file will not work and you will get that error "hardwareIDchange" ( "hardwareIDchange" it says that your sd card hardware id has been changed)

So....this means we are not talking about Mio P550, because Mio P550 is a PDA ( personal device assistant)

  • kingul Apr 10, 2009

Yes , it is, and like any other pc, it have an option for uninstalling software. You must uninstall software and install it again( with the original installation kit) . Is this so hard for you to understand? You should read the manual instruction before posting

And by the way, the gps software is called Miomap, not mio, and because you did that update, the license was changed

Garmin Nuvi 1350LMT Nuvi 1350 W map update error

Run the Garmin WebUpdater once more and apply any updates. Consider downloading and installing the lifetime map update to the computer and then use the Garmin Mapquest or Basecamp computer program to send the map data to the nuvi. Overall, it takes a little longer, but is better than trying to download directly to the GPS itself. If you're not having luck, it will probably be wise to contact Garmin Tech Support. It would be wise to mention the funky "once / month" GPS reboot issue with Garmin at this time too.

Trying to start but its try to load maps and then

Please check the rear charging port to see if its loose. This is a common problem and if the connector is loose, the battery will never charge and the unit will die at loading the maps. Please see this link for more info:

Tomtom one XL

hi, it can take up to 15min to find the gps signal for the first time, also make sure you outside and away from any tall building then just wait and you should find it will come on.

it usually takes about 5min to find signal but the first time it can take up to 15min to find the signal.

you could also go through the menus on the tomtom and find the menu that says gps and click on this and see if it has found any signals from what i can remember it needs to pick up 3 satalites before it starts working properly.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Do a hard reset, by flipping the power switch on the bottom. Leave it off for a minimum of 30 seconds. then turn it back onn, the firmware bac-up will be restored at that time.

Garmin Streetpilot i3 GPS cannot load map to memory card

The Garmin C340 comes preloaded with maps while the I3 require that the maps be installed onto a micro sd card.

You can place the micro SD card into a SD adapter and use a regular card reader to download your maps. When the software ask for 'Device' to download to use the drop down arrow and find your drive letter associated with the card reader. Using a card reader will be much faster since the it is ubs 2.0 vs ubs 1.1

You could also go to Garmin website and download and install the USB drivers, see link below.

Route calculation error

I was having the same problem and contacted Garmin support.

What I had done was turned off the Basemap that came with the unit. I only had the mapsource map street map on which I had purchased separately.

The technician basically said the unit needed the basemap to "locate itself". Somehow the basemap supports any maps you purchase separately. That seemed odd but once I turned the Basemap back on it calculated the routes and the error message went away.

If you have the Basemap off, try turning it on from the Map Setup - Information window.

Hope this helped.
