Welcome to Fixya

If the problem just occur recently then you might need to reinstall the activesync software. Try to insert the USB to other USB ports available. Would it be possible if you can provide me the error message that you are getting?

Thank you for using Fixya!

How do I connect to Ford Sync?

To use any of the phone features for SYNC such as making a call, receiving a text message, or using SYNC Services, you must first connect, or "pair" your Bluetooth-enabled phone. Pairing is what allows Bluetooth devices to communicate securely with each other.
Please note that SYNC can make and receive calls using only one paired phone at a time.

Before you start

There are a few things you should do before starting step 1:

Enable your phone's Bluetooth feature and make your phone discoverable.

Press the Phone button to access the Phone Menu. Press OK. Add a Device displays. Press OK.

SYNC prompts, "Press OK to begin pairing device." Press OK.

SYNC prompts, "Search for SYNC on your device and enter the PIN provided by SYNC." Press OK.

A six-digit number displays on the screen for three minutes, during which time SYNC actively seeks for the same number from your phone.

Type the number displayed by SYNC on your phone key pad.
Upon successful pairing, a message displays confirming the phone is connected.

Exit the phone pairing process by pressing the Arrows to select the Exit message and press OK to leave the Phone menu.

Here are the steps:
1. Make the partnership between the phone and the pc with the cable first and let it sync once.
2. Unplug the cable, turn on the bluetooth and make the pc and phone connect through bluetooth and save the device in the device list so it can connect everytime you want to sync without adding the device again.
3. Once they are connected to each other run active sync (with bluetooth still active) and press Menu-Connect via bluetooth. Here's the tricky part, it wont always connect. You have to do this a couple of times until you get a connection. For me its like 4-5 times and i get connected.

Thats it.

I have a Samsung U-485 that I can not get synced to my Ford 5-door Focus. It worked perfectly until a week ago.

When you push the Phone icon on the steering wheel (with the car running and in park) after a few seconds the center console screen will first display Phone Menu and the Phone Redial... Then use the seek arrows on the steering wheel to scroll through the menu... When you see Bluetooth Devices, push the OK on the steering wheel. Use the seek arrows again the find Connect BT. Push OK.you will see the name of your phone, or the model number (use the seek arrows), when you find your device, push the OK button. Scroll to Return, and Push the OK to go back on the menu. When done press and hold the Phone icon for about five seconds the end the process. Be sure your phone settings have it's Bluetooth on, check to see that your phone "sees" Sync...
Now push the Voice button (the mouth/sound icon) on the steering wheel, after the tone, say Phone and Sync should have your phone active...

How can I transfer pictures from the phone to a computer

connect the phone to your computer, the phone will promt you to select option as "Active sync"or "Disk mode", select disk mode, and you can find the phone memory card in your My Computer section. You can then copy the photos from there. Or if you want to do it through Active sync, you should first install Active sync on your PC.

Can't connect C905a Bluetooth to my car navigator. Have a 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid.

If your car has active sync on the menu open it and enter you phones bluetooth id and wait 30sec to a minute and it should run together fine, if not, ask your car service department if it is equipped and working properly.

Need to get contacts from phone to computer and my screens broke

hey mate you need active sync on your pc- it should have installed in the first connection (maybe you got a cd with the HD with it on it or try searching for it) from here you connect up using the usb cable that also goes in your power pack and connect it up and choose active sync on the mobile (if touch is still working) or if not it usually is preset to choose active sync from here it should start syncing all your phone info to microsoft excahnge automatically (i had to set up an excahnge connected it to my hotmail account/uni account) from here next time u say reset your phone (hard reset) or flash it or get a new windows mobile phone (all same software ie samsung omnia and htc touch hd both windows 6.1) it will automatically resync all your contacts onto the phone (as long as its connected on active sync)- hope this helps a bit

Palm TX, Dell 6300 Laptop, can see each other through Bluetooth but will not connect. Want to connect to sync clocks.

Have you checked your hotsync settings and bluetooth settings to make sure that you are using bluetooth sync and not the serial connect. Palm devices can also share LAN/Internet over bluetooth.

Sansung i780 to be used as a USB modem

(I) 1)First pair the PC and your phone of course 2)After pairing, meaning the phone and the pc sees each other, go to your phone and look for the icon "internet sharing". 3)Choose bluetooth pan as you pc connection then press connect. So now your phone is on data connection via gprs, 3g or 3g+ 4) Then go to your pc now and go to My bluetooth places search for Network Access Point and enable it. It will turn green with arrows, meaning it has established a connection.TADA! Now you have internet connection using your i780s
(II) Do you have in your programs or settings a icon called Internet Sharing?
If so please connect to active sync first and then select the internet sharing icon.
Active sync will disconnect and your laptop will start using your phone as the modem.
