SOURCE: Flashing Lights on Thermador Oven/Range

the lights flashing in a sequence indicates the error code. The error codes indicates what the problem is with your stove. Based on the response to your message, it sounds like their error code is 12, one then two. It is not clear what your error code is.

There is an explanation of the error codes on the wiring diagram that comes with the stove. I found the wiring diagram for my stove taped to the inside of the kick plate. The kick plate had to be removed to find it.

my oven is not working either. the error code I get is 34. I am told by a technician that error code indicates that the computer is not recognizing that the cooling fan is operating, which is why my oven will not work.
When I try and order a new cooling fan from Thermador, the website says that it is temporarily out of stock. Obviously, other people are having the same problem I am.

SOURCE: Can grill be safely converted to griddle on Thermador PRG486GLUS?

http://www.instawares.com/add-griddle-top-2.133-1002.0.7.htm

try this.

If it doesnt fit your specs. then i would suggest u find a thermador parts place and begin to buy the parts for the griddle as replacement parts. find a model of the stove set up that you want and make a list of all the parts that go to the griddle attachment.

My guess is that the reason for the flat "No" on the retrofit was that griddles require a thermostat similar to the one on the oven and broilers do not. So if their is no room behind the face plate where the knob would go then you can't put in a griddle. The other issue might be that the burners for the griddle wont line up with the brackets that are holding up all the broiler burners now. The griddle burner looks exactly like the one from the over only smaller so it has to line up strait where a regular front and back burner have to line up offset. maybe since you have the broiler already that should not be an issue? Then the problem is finding the griddle top it self that is going to be spendy. I think the link i gave at the top is your best bet. good luck.

Here is the part to order.

Close the valve in the gas line connected to the Thermador oven. Unplug the cooktop's electrical cord from the wall outlet.
Remove the screws under the front edge of the Thermador cooktop below the cabinet to release the cooktop from the countertop.

Put on work gloves then raise the cooktop at an angle. Recruit a friend to hold up the appliance while you work on the igniter underneath. The igniter is a pronged strip of black metal in a housing wired with two plugs connected to powericon1.png sockets underneath the Thermador cooktop.

Disconnect the two wired plugs on the end of the igniter from the sockets.
Take out the two screws in the metal plate that hold the igniter in position under the Thermador cooktop. Pull the igniter out of the mounting bracket in the cooktop.
Hold the new igniter by the housing and insert the part into the mounting bracket. Secure it with the two screws.
Connecticon1.png the two wired plugs to the sockets. One plug is larger than the other, which makes it simple to connect them correctly.

Lower the Thermador cooktop into position on the countertop and reattach it with the screws through the underside of the front edge.
Plug inicon1.png the cooktop's power cord and open the valve in the gas line.

Thermador Cook Top Model SGS365FS. All ignitors continuously "click" when turning only one knob. Once the gas is lit and you turn the knob off of ignite all ignitors still continuously click. Each

THat is the way the igniter circuit works...all burners activate at the same time...that is a safety precaution in case more than one burner is on. As far as the igniters continuing is concerned, there is a problem with one or more than one of the push in to ignite knobs being stuck in the in position. Use some CRC or WD40 spray on the shafts behing the knobs by removing each knob and spraying where it slides.

GRILL IGNITES BUT WILL NOT STAY LIT

If its not staying on and going out as soon as you let go...then this sounds more of a thermocouple fault to me. All cookers have these on every burner now. Remember always use a gas safe engineer!

2 of my burners keep clicking, even when completely off

Did you recently clean the range? If you get liquid into the igniter switches(located behind the gas control knob) or into the contacts where the igniters are located then it can cause a short and make the igniters to operate even when the knob is off. So if that is the case then the only fix is to unplug the range for 24 hours and let the liquid dry out. If the liquid is not the problem then it could be the igniter switches in the gas control knob are broken and stuck in the closed(on) position.

Dear Kathynearing,

Hi. I have experience cooking in a burner like that it keeps on burning coz the ignition coil was press by your switch knob coz the spring was stack up try to release it so that it will not be ignited all the time when your cooking. This should be ignited at once. If it gives light already it should be released. Please reply if you have solved the problem so that I can give you more advices.
