Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition
I am using Windows vista....all of a sudden now..audio functions are not working...I could see an "X" symbol over the speaker icon..on the right bottom of the screen....and whenever I mouse over that icon it says "No Audio output device is installed"...I never uninstalled anything....Plz advice me how to get rid of this problem....
This may resolve your issue by updating your sound driver in device Mgr..
Follow these instructions.
To access Device Manager, go to Start | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | System | Device Manager (Device Manager is located under "Tasks" in the left hand column of the "System" menu). A list of hardware will display. Here you will search for "Sound, video and game controllers", click on the (+) plus sign and a drop down menu will appear. One at a time, right click on each of these choices and select Update driver. When completed, restart your computer.
