Question about HP PC Laptops

My daughters HP pavilion boots with an exception breakpoint. I tried to boot in safe mode and got a Run-time error, 10050 Network subsystem failed, I don't know what she's done to it, any ideas?

You probaly just have a broken program in your startup programs and with the "exception breakpoint" error I would guess it's java based.
Try this:
To get to startup programs go
Start -> Run -> In the box type "msconfig" and press enter -> Press the startup tab -> and look for any software that may be causing the problem and disable.

Hope this helps.

Hp pavilion a4311f, hp support assistant still frozen and 'a error occured'

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the delete or F2 key

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart if this fails to fix the problem

During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer

you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell what file has been corrupted or missing you might be able to work your way through problem if you are unable to find a solution

restart back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode

click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred

you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time
click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option

hope this helps you

It sounds like a malware that corrupted the system. Try booting into safe mode. That way it runs a very reduced amount of programs and processes so that it won't run into that error you are receiving. In safe mode, you can scan your system for malwares. Once your machine is clean, and the error still persists, it could be a disk error that the malwares left behind. So run the disk checking utility. If the problem still persists after that, then you'll need to do a repair (partial) install of the OS by booting from the Windows disc. That last option is also valid if you cannot boot to safe mode. If any of my suggestions work, please do rate me. Thanks and good luck. Hope it all goes well for you.

HOW DO I TAKE MY HP PAVILION DV6000 OFF OF SAFE MODE. BECAUSE THE PC CUT OFF CAUSE OF LOW BATTERY. I JUST WANT PC TO BE BACK IN REGULAR MODE NOT SAFE MODE

You should just have to shut it down in safe mode and reboot. And it should come up in normal mode. You can try hitting F8 when you turn it on until you get the boot menu and then select boot in normal mode.
If it keep wanting to go into safe mode it may need to reboto a few times to clear out something before it behaves but it should boot into normal mode on its own.

My HP Notebook first showed a black screen and then after a hard shutdown and restart it only shows a black screen with colored lines. It seems that it is starting up even though I can't see the screen.

Try this,Start in VGA mode.Once started, update your video drivers

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:
  1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
  3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.
Safe Boot options loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');
  • Safe Mode (SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal): This option uses a minimal set of device drivers and services to start Windows.
  • Safe Mode with Networking (SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Network): This option uses a minimal set of device drivers and services to start Windows together with the drivers that you must have to load networking.
  • Safe Mode with Command Prompt (SAFEBOOT_OPTION=Minimal(AlternateShell)): This option is the same as Safe mode, except that Cmd.exe starts instead of Windows Explorer.
  • Enable VGA Mode: This option starts Windows in 640 x 480 mode by using the current video driver (not Vga.sys). This mode is useful if the display is configured for a setting that the monitor cannot display.
Please rate this a fixa

External monitor

This does not appear to be a display issue but more of a failure of explorer to load. Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del so it brings up task manager. Click file then go to new task and type Explorer and see if all of your icons and such show up. If they do you will want to install a spyware remover such as spybot search and destroy from safer-networking to check for any spyware that is preventing explorer from running. Also check your event viewer in safe mode and see if there are any errors when you boot.
