VMware

Since you do not have a DVD, Vista is out, That leaves you with Windows XP (if you have it) or Linux/BSD. Your question does not give a lot of details, are you trying to install VMware Server or ESXi?
Both are free but there is a big difference, ESXi is a bare metal hypervisor and VMware Server is not. This means the ESXi does not need an operating system already installed but VMware Server does.
VMware has posted hardware that is compatible with ESXi but you should note that you really need at least 2 computer to run ESXi - one as the actual server and another to manage it. With VMware server you only need one machine and it is less sensitive to hardware but you have to have an operating system already installed on the machine, then load the VMware server and then create the virtual machine. What type of machine are you trying to create VMware supports practicaly all versiona of windows and linux. Can you detail what you have and what you have done so far to get the error message?

Ristricted logging onto server when server is off

Hi
Thanks for the background info, this makes it easier for me to see what you need.
You need to disable your guest account if you havnt already done so.
The user is logging on with a cached version of the logon information, this is useful for when the server goes down but not in your case as you need to prevent this.
Another worrying aspect is that you allow all your users to log on using the same password. Very bad from a security aspect anyhow. It is better to change at least every 30 days. If they moan they will get used to it soon enough.
Go into group policy again and computer configuration>windows settings>security settings>local policies>security options and look for interactive logon:number of previous logons to cache - set this to 0. If the domain controller is not available and the logon info is not cached they cannot logon to domain.
Group policy can be overruled at the client end if they have admin priviledges so you may have to set this on the client pc also. But you need to test to see if it is required there. I have not used that particular policy but it should be ok just on the server. Your users dont have admin rights do they? Anyway good luck. You can set this by applying it to an OU or domain wide but if you want to target just this one pc then maybe if you put it in its own ou and apply it just there.
You need to create new policies rather than modifying the domain one and keep each policy for specific purposes so that applying them to ou's is easier, ie internet options policy, firewall policy, working hours policy etc.
Regards
Julie

When trying to refresh a Business Objects error... DMA0007

If changes have been made to the universe it may well be that in Deski you're using a local copy of it,
I would first advise exporting the universe to the repository (cms ) and having another go in Infoview just to ensure that the same copy of the universe is being used.

If it still fails, you will need access to the Business Objects server as it could well be that the connection on the server is either missing, incorrect or using a different version of middleware.

The fastest way to check on the server, is to launch Deski directly on the server and import the report > refresh it and see if you get the error.
If so then we know that it's a connectivity issue.

PXE boot slow, creation of RAM disk failed

RAM disk requires actual memory in order to create a 'virtual' drive. My first instinct would be to check to ensure that RAM is actually available. Perhaps memory is faulty or configured improperly.
