The Upcoming Final Fantasy Tactics on iPod Touch

As a huge game fan, what is the best game are you expecting for? I bet you must have learned that Square Enix has announced on its official European blog that Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions for iPhone and iPod Touch will be hitting the App Store this Thursday, August. After receiving Apple's approval, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions will be out on Thursday, as expected -- and it'll be priced rather highly as far as iPhone/iPod Touch games goes.

As we know, the original Final Fantasy Tactics game was released on the Playstation console in 1997 in Japan, and in 1998 in North America. It was also released on the PLAYSTATION Network in 2009. Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, an updated version of the game, was released on the PlayStation Portable console in 2007. A PLAYSTATION Network version was released in March in Japan and in July in North America.

As an updated version of a game originally released in 1997 in Japan, it'll also be competing with countless App Store games that offer up hours of game play -- Super Stickman Golf comes to mind -- for what works out to be about 6.19% of the price. That's quite the premium for a game on the App Store, where the large majority of games are sold for $0.99. It's not until you can get into the 150 range that you can even find apps close in price ($9.99), and neither of those -- At Bat 11 (#151) and Pages (#158) -- are games. If you are just an ipod and iphone user, you can transfer apps from ipod to iphone by using an ipod to computer transfer tool.

Clearly, Square Enix has a much different market in mind than what we usually see catered to on iPhone and iPod Touch. (Tactics isn't a universal app; an iPad version will be released this fall.) The re-release of The War of the Lions on PSN costs only $9.99, the same price Amazon is selling the UMD version for. Given that the iOS game strips out the multiplayer version introduced in the updated PSP version, it's questionable if Retina display is enough to warrant such a premium.

Looking at the 'top grossing' apps, not before #37 - infinite blade-- can you find an app that costs more than $1.99 other than the aforementioned PopCap and Activision titles. The majority of the top 30 grossing titles are free-to-play; nothing prior to #51 and #52 -- Golfshot: Golf GPS ($29.99) and TomTom U.S.A. ($34.99) -- is as expensive as Tactics. And, once again, these aren't games we're talking about.

This iOS release features a number of improvements and enhancements, including an autosave/resume function, and touch controls. Only 3GS and newer iOS devices are supported - the game will not run on 3G or older iPhones and iTouches. Yes, in three days. 72 hours. That's all. Final Fantasy Tactics is finally being released for the iPhone and iPod Touch (I'd already mentioned that the iPad version arrives later in the month). You can literally feel the sweaty anticipation from here.

Additionally: As an apple user, you maybe interested in: 5 must have 3d games for ipad, ipod transfer to computer, ipod music to computer

PS2 memory card

Have you tried both Memory Card slots? Maybe Final Fantasy Tactices doesn't understand a 16 MB Memory Card since the official Sony ones are only 8 MB's. Maybe you can try one of those?

Let me know if this helps. Please rate.
