To bypass the cartridge alignment press and hold the Enter button, and then press Menu.

Print Alignment Page continues to fail


Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

Cartridge


Easy! Just open the front latch by lifting up, unlock the cartridge you are replacing, and snap in a new one. I caution you to use only HP new cartridges for best results. You can find a pretty decent price on them at www.amazon.com. Also, reset your ink counter in the HP Image Zone to reflect the new cartridge install. Then run the align cartridges option and you're all set. Hope that helps. If so, please rate this solution. Thanks!

OfficeJet G85xi cartirdges will not align


Could be one of two things....

1 - you may have bad cartridges (usually the color)...when the machine does an alignment it looks for specific marks on the paper...ie..green check marks before each line etc...if the correct marks are not there you will get an alignment failure...if the green check marks are there etc then you have a different problem...first replace color cartridge with a HP Brand cartridge

2- spot sensor on the side of carriage is not working...this is the little blue/green light that comes on during alignment. Its what reads the markings on paper so if the markings are correctly there and you still get this error then the spot sensor needs to be replaced. Simple fix that u can do. We sell the spot sensor for $15

ALIGN CARTRIDGES


Unplug the printer, wait 30 second and plug it back in. Sometimes that resets it.

Alignment problems


Here's the deal with the cartridge alignment page....the machine will spit out a series of black lines mixed with yellow ink and at the beginning of each of these lines is a "Green" check mark. The carriage moves back and forth over these lines and green check marks and reads them by use of what is called a "spot sensor" that resides on the right side of the carriage assembly. This is usually noticed by the blue ray of light that shines out of it. So if you are getting an alignment failure one of two things is happening....1)You've have got a bad cartridge (usually the color) and it is not laying down the right colors, specifically the green check mark or 2)You've got a bad spot sensor...even though it may still be shining the blue light, the sensor board can't process the information. Its an easy fix either way.
