First check the oil level. It should not be overfilled. Is the compressor level?

If above is all OK, change the oil with the recomended ok. Check the IR web site for an approved oil. It is important that the right oil is used.

If you still have a problem it sounds like a time for piston rings.

Good Luck

I have a Porter Cable NS100 and a BN200 and both are leaking air from what appears to be the exhaust at the very top when I plug into air hose.....will not hold pressure.

have you oiled this tool .and if so are you sure this tool uses oil.because some nailers do not use oil and if you oil it they will most likely stop working .if this is the case you will need to take it apart and clean it with a mild cleaner .we use a water base cleaner to keep it from damaging the orings. if this doesnot fix it you will probbly need to put a Oring kit in it.you shoul be able to get this a ereplacement.com .i hope this helps you out.

I have MXM 155 pro. I picked up from service center. They did not add hydraulic oil. I drove it about 5 miles and transmission locked up. No oil was showing on sight glass. What problems am i looking at?

the problems will be expensive as there are shafts bearings and bushes that will all be damaged from the lack of oil. I would be making enquiries at the service centre as to what sort of workshop insurance they have to cover that sort of error as it should have had oil levels checked before it was released to you.

Is the Porter CableFN250C oiless , nowhere on the gun or in the manual does it say whether it is supposed to be oiled or oiless

Just a couple of drops of oil into air inlet twice a day is all that is needed (little more for heavy use). Nail gun oil is sold at Lowes in the tool department (cost about 3 to 5 dollars, any brand will do ). You can also use any light non detergent oil like sewing machine oil. Store/hang your gun with the air inlet pointing down so that access oil can run out of the gun over night. If no oil/water comes out of the gun, you are using the correct amount and you are draining the water out of the compressor. Good luck

If there is a leak in the pump then please check if the leak had come from the drain plug or the inlet. If the leak is elsewhere it is important to get in touch with the dealership and get explanation.

Need to know what oil to use in cap 2560 compressor

You can use any brand of compressor oil from the hardware store, it is all nearly the same. If you can find it, the Senco oil is very good quality, also the Campbell Hausfield oil is fine and less expensive. Only point is make sure you get the compressor oil and not the tool oil as it is not the same.

Same situation here with the same model.  Turned out to be lack of pressure coming from the air compressor.  I turned up the pressure a little and things went fine afterwards.

couple of things there are o-rings inside that trigger assy. they are either pintched in or dry. next there could be internal rubber hoses inside the gun. might need replacing. lastly the hose or o-ring going to the back side of the ram is leaking or broken. here is what i would do. you sound pretty handy with your tools so i would get somewhere clean start taking the gun apart thouroghly noting where everything went and go untill you find the problem. but first i would shoot a couple of drops of oil into the air input on the gun then hook it up and fire a few off and see if it clears up, if not then start takeing it apart. I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH....DO THIS ON A CLEAN SERFACE WITH YOUR HAND CLEAN. i chased a leak around in a pnumatic hammer for 3 days all because it wasnt clean on the inside..
