Question about Carrier 36KCARMS Air Conditioner

Carrier A/C system (P250H) smells like urine

My split system Carrier A/C has recently started to produce a urine smell when I operate it.

I have investigated the drain pan and the drainage, which are both clear. I also cleaned up all the whole of the external compress system, but I still keep getting the smell.

Does anyone know if there could be any additional cause to this problem?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

PS And for those budding comedians, no I have not urinated in my system.... !!! ; ))

Since the smell could only come from the inside, and you say your drain pan, and condensate line are clear, I would think that the indoor coil may be dirty, and the water isn't flowing from the coil, but dripping into the duct, and becoming stagnate. There are many possiblities, you may want to get a flashlight and check all of your duct openings for things such as moisture, and unfortunately dead animals. Sometimes mice, squirrels, rats, bats, etc. find ways into the duct, and either die, or urinate in the duct and so on. I hope you find it. Good luck.
